About This Pub
Ah, The Brigadier – it's one of those pubs that just warms your cockles the moment you walk in, with its friendly staff and that genuine community spirit that makes you want to stick around for another round. From what I've gathered from folks' chats, it's spot on for a relaxed night; you can dive into a game of darts or pool, or join in with the open mic or karaoke if you're feeling bold, all while enjoying well-priced pints and some cracking special offers that keep things affordable. The beer selection is top-notch too, with Joseph Holt's award-winners leading the way, and it's great that they've made it accessible for everyone, including four-legged friends. On the flip side, though, the opening times are a bit restrictive on weekdays, kicking off at 2 PM, so it's not ideal if you're after an early tipple. And honestly, it's more your classic local than a high-energy spot for a big night out – think cosy chats over lively parties – but that's part of its charm if you're after a down-to-earth vibe. All in all, if you're in Sale and fancy a pint in a place that feels like a second home, give it a go; it's got that balance of fun and familiarity that makes for a proper good time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is absolutely spot on – it's a proper community hub with a friendly vibe that makes you feel right at home, perfect for catching up with mates over a pint.
-
They've got cracking entertainment options like darts, pool, open mic nights, bingo, and karaoke, which keep things lively without being overwhelming.
-
Drinks are well-priced with some brilliant special offers, such as fizz Fridays and deals on beers, making it easy on the wallet for a night out.
-
A great selection of award-winning beers, lagers, and spirits, plus it's dog-friendly and has disabled access, so it's inclusive for everyone.
Cons
-
Opening hours are a bit on the late side during the week, starting at 2 PM, which might not suit those wanting a quick lunch pint or an early evening stop.
-
It's more of a locals' spot focused on community events rather than a buzzing party venue, so if you're after something trendy or romantic, it might not quite hit the mark.
-
The entertainment and vibe lean towards the traditional, which could feel a tad quiet for those seeking more excitement on a Friday night.

Top pub top land lady top staff and the regulars se to be good people. First time in but will definatly be in again
Very friendly and welcoming pub, becoming my new local definitely worth a visit 😀
The Brig is the best place you could ever hope for, in my situation.
I'm 35 years old and all the locals have known me that long, I've even met very good new pals and drinking buddies.
The Apple never falls to far from the tree. The Brigs Apples must be good because everybody is interested.
Cheers to Jane and Jeff (it might be Geoff) but I already feel comfortable enough me and my mate will have a laugh about it
I don't drink alcohol so I'm not a massive pub - goer. It's a welcoming pub and a local "regular" for the majority of customers. They have great pool and darts teams and are quite competitive with other pubs and areas. It's not a "date" pub or a party pub but I do believe it is used for christening, funeral, birthday and other family orientated celebrations.
