About This Pub
You know, I had a wander into Portivo Lounge the other day, and it's got this really charming industrial feel with loads of comfy nooks and plenty of light pouring in – makes for a proper relaxed spot to settle in. The staff are dead friendly and on the ball most of the time, and I love how they've got all these daily deals going on, like grabbing a burger and a drink for a steal on Mondays, or diving into tapas midweek. It's brilliant if you're with the family or even bringing the dog along, as they've thought of everything there. On the downside, the food's not always spot on; a few folks mentioned cold chips or portions that didn't quite satisfy, and waiting around for dessert can feel a bit tedious when you're in the mood for something sweet. All in all, it's a solid choice for a casual get-together, especially if you're out shopping or by the docks, but maybe keep expectations in check for the grub and you'll have a cracking time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is absolutely buzzing and quirky, making it a brilliant spot for catching up with mates over a drink or meal.
-
It's super dog-friendly, with thoughtful touches like water bowls and treats that make it welcoming for your furry companions.
-
They've got loads of tempting deals, like Tapas Tuesdays or cheeky cocktails, which keep things affordable and fun all week.
-
The location is spot on, right in Gloucester Quays with a lovely outside terrace for soaking up the sun or watching the world go by.
-
Friendly staff and a great range of menus, including options for kids, vegans, and gluten-free folks, so there's something for everyone.
Cons
-
Food quality can be a bit inconsistent, with some reports of cold fries or soggy bits that take the edge off an otherwise nice meal.
-
Portions might feel a tad small on certain dishes, leaving you wanting a bit more bang for your buck.
-
Wait times for things like desserts can drag on, which might disrupt the flow of your evening out.
-
A few meals didn't quite hit the mark, like noodles that could do with more chicken, so it's not always a guaranteed winner.

Great evening catching up with friends. Atmosphere was buzzing and the service was great. Food was okay, fries were a little on the cold side and the bottom of my burger bun was soggy, possibly from the juices from the beef, but didn't make it as pleasant as it could be. Besides that it was all in all a pleasant evening.
Lovely quirky atmosphere, dog friendly and has nice little touches, such as dog bowls, water and treats or bar snacks. Main came out in reasonable time and was tasty although mean on the amount of chicken (2 chicken tenders). Ordered a dessert separately which took nearly 30 minutes to arrive and then was seasoned with what I can only guess was a chip seasoning rather than cinnamon sugar… interesting mix with salted caramel sauce. The manager was very apologetic and provided a refund with an extra drink, plus a good replacement dessert. The serving staff were lovely, couldn’t fault their work.
The brunches here are fantastic. Very much worth it if you are hungry. The staff were lovely and easy to talk to, and service was fast and without error. The place is well-themed and had a relaxed atmosphere. The bang bang noodles were not fantastic, and could have been supplemented with more chicken. I will definitely come again if I am around.
We only had time for coffee, but the food looked very nice, a lovely location at Gloucester quays, Lovely sat outside watching the world go by. The staff were very nice.
Nice restaurant. I liked the design ( plenty of paintings on the walls and old fashioned floor lamps ) and location ( near Old Docks, by the bridge and river) . Food was fresh, delicious and in reasonable prices. The portions were good and nice decorated. When I will visit Gloucester next time, I will choose this restaurant again.
