About This Pub
Oh, let me tell you about Coal Kitchen – it's one of those places in Gloucester Quays that just hits the spot for a relaxed get-together or even something a bit more special. From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, the staff really shine; they're so attentive and make you feel right at home, whether you're popping in for a quick lunch or celebrating a big event like a wedding. The food doesn't disappoint either – think hearty portions and flavours that keep you coming back, especially their bottomless brunch which sounds like a fun way to while away a Saturday. And the setting? It's got that waterside charm with a cosy bar and a terrace that's perfect for unwinding with a cocktail in hand. It's conveniently tucked near the cinema and shops, so you can easily make a day of it. On the flip side, though, it's not the cheapest option out there; that bottomless deal might make your wallet wince a little, and it does get busy, which could mean a wait or a more lively crowd than you'd fancy on a quiet evening. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're after a welcoming spot with good vibes, just keep an eye on the bill and plan ahead for peak times – I'd say it's well worth a visit for a proper pub experience.

Cons

It can get a tad pricey, particularly for things like the bottomless brunch, which might set you back at least £40 a head, so it's worth budgeting for.

My daughter just got married and she and her husband hosted the guests here for a post-ceremony dinner. It was lovely, the food was good and the portions generous, and the staff was wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Highly recommended.
Had our wedding reception in the back of the restaurant. It was an absolutely lovely experience, all of the staff were very nice and helpful, checking in on us regularly to make sure we were ok. Let us create our own custom menu and we’re extremely accommodating for anything we needed or wanted. An absolutely lovely atmosphere with the music and the lovely ambience of the restaurant. All of this is thank you to Josh, who made sure everything was perfect for us and kept in contact so it was something we didn’t have to worry about at all. Overall an absolutely amazing experience, I would HIGHLY recommend for events and just a casual dining experience.
Had a really nice relaxed experience here, it was my birthday and the staff were very accommodating and friendly. Natasha served us and she had very good customer service and was just a generally really nice pleasant person. Thank you Natasha.
Great fun for a Bottomless Brunch with colleagues. It was very busy when we went (Saturday 2pm) and the place was practically full. The bottomless brunch is a bit pricey (expect minimum £40 per person) but has a great choice compared to other restaurants and the drinks are well made and tasty. You have enough time to try most of the mocktails/cocktails on the menu. Couldn’t fault the service. They made an error with one item but it was quickly rectified and everyone was happy with their food 😋
Great option for lunch and getogether whenever you visit Gloucester quays. Today visited this restaurant and staff immediately provided a seat and explained about main and set menu. 3 course set menu is easy to order. Food served with no waiting.
