About This Pub
Ah, Port O' Leith – it's one of those pubs that really captures the heart of Leith, with its laid-back charm and that genuine local buzz that makes you feel right at home. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this fantastic atmosphere where you can relax with a few beers, enjoy some top-notch music, and chat with the friendly staff who go out of their way to keep everyone happy. I love how it's open every evening until the wee hours, giving you plenty of time to settle in after a day out. On the flip side, though, there are a couple of things that might put you off – like the odd drama from the owner that can sour the mood, or the music cranked up a bit too high, which means you might end up shouting over your mates just to catch up. And let's not forget, it can get a tad stretched with staffing, so you might wait a minute or two for your round. Overall, it's a solid spot for a good night out, but it's got that rough-around-the-edges appeal that keeps it real – I'd say give it a go if you're after an authentic Edinburgh experience, just keep your expectations balanced for the best time.

The atmosphere is absolutely brilliant – it's a laid-back local spot with a real community feel that makes you want to linger for another pint.
-
Friendly staff who are attentive and keep things running smoothly, even when it's busy, which really adds to the welcoming vibe.
-
Great music selection and a chilled-out setting, perfect for unwinding after a walk around Leith.
-
It's open late until 1am every day, so you can pop in for a casual evening without worrying about closing times.
-
The pub has that authentic character with clean taps and a nod to its history, making it feel like a proper Edinburgh gem.
Cons
-
The owner can sometimes stir up dramas, which has put a damper on things for a few folks and kills the good vibes.
-
Music can get a bit too loud, making it tough to have a proper chat without raising your voice.
-
It might feel understaffed at times, with just one person handling everything, which could lead to waits even if they're doing their best.

The Pub is great, but the owner is well known for creating difficult times/dramas with customers... I have seen a few of his schizophrenic episodes and honestly it just kills the good vibes..
A nice small bar near the shore, music was quite loud music so we were shouting at eachother a lot of the time, but overall good experience. Only 1 member of staff working when we were there but he was very attentive and ensured noone was waiting long to be served. Would visit again!
Laid back af. Clean taps. No taps aff. Beautiful dogs. A local joint with character and 0 cold, ostentatious amplifier types. That's handy, pop in.
After our walk in Leith, we had to wait for the tram and stopped by a pub. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I really liked the music too.
If there is one pub you need to visit in Leith then its the Port O' Leith. I remember going there in the 90's and seeing people dancing on the bar and things could get a bit wild..so okay these days the bar is a slightly more laid back but its still a cool place to have couple of beers and see the Leith life.
