About This Pub

You know, I have to say, Nobles Cafe Bar & Restaurant in Leith is one of those places that just leaves you with a smile. It's got that lovely historic feel, right on Constitution Street, and it's clear why it's picked up some awards for its food and drinks. The team there are absolute stars – always chatting and making sure everything's just right, whether you're popping in for a cold pint on a warm day or tucking into something hearty like their vegan Scottish breakfast or those legendary fish and chips. They've really nailed the menu with fresh, local ingredients, and it's great to see options for all sorts of tastes and needs. On the flip side, it's a shame it's shut on Mondays, as that might throw a spanner in the works for some plans, and if you're with the family, do check about those highchairs because they're not exactly plentiful. Still, it's a proper welcoming spot that I'd recommend for a relaxed evening or a weekend brunch – just give them a ring to book, and you'll be sorted for a cracking time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • They've got a fantastic selection of fresh, seasonal food that's seriously tasty, with great options for vegans and those with dietary needs.
  • The atmosphere is spot on – it's cosy and historic, perfect for a relaxed drink or a proper meal in the heart of Leith.
  • Their drinks menu is brilliant, featuring local craft beers and cocktails that hit the spot, especially on a sunny day.
Cons
  • It's closed on Mondays, which can be a bit of a nuisance if you're planning a mid-week outing.
  • They've only got a limited number of highchairs, so families with little ones might need to sort that out in advance.
  • It can get quite busy at times, so you'd probably want to book ahead to avoid any disappointment.

What a great place Nobles Bar is and on such a nice street in Leith. We had walked to Leith from Greenbank so were in need of some cold drinks on such a nice day. The waitress and bartender were very friendly and we can’t wait to go back and try some of the nice food we saw being delivered to other customers. Thanks, see you soon.

Wonderful atmosphere, nice people and good food. The full vegan scotish breakfast is precisely what you would hope for a full breakfast. A hearty big meal that can get you through the day.

I had the most amazing potato and leek salad, along with whiskey cured salmon and a sticky toffee pudding. The staff was great, friendly and accommodating. I look forward to enjoying Sunday roast there this weekend.

Firstly, how can you not like a pub with a picture of Bill Murray right as you walk in? Next, the food was pretty good. I got the fish and chips and it was some of the best that I have had. It was a massive piece of fish and wasn't soggy or overcooked. It was perfectly battered and quite delightful. However, the reason for the review is that my travel group (5 people) ranked this as the best sticky toffee pudding. They are the champions out of ten pubs and restaurants across Scotland and London. Our ranking was because we found ourselves trying it in every city we went to and we had built quite the list. Congratulations to the chef for ranking number 1. You have bragging rights amongst our group. Cheers!
