About This Pub
Oh, let me tell you about Pillars Brewery – it's one of those places that really stands out in East London for anyone who loves a good lager. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the beers are just brilliant; they're fresh, full of character, and perfect for kicking back with friends on a relaxed afternoon. I love how the staff go the extra mile to make everything feel welcoming – they're always chatting away, sharing stories about the brews, and it makes the whole experience feel personal and enjoyable. The brewery tours are a proper laugh too; they're informative without being stuffy, and pairing them with tasty food options just elevates the fun – think veggie-friendly bites that complement the beers beautifully. Plus, it's got that secret, hip vibe in a quiet corner of an industrial estate, with bar snacks and food trucks adding to the pub-like atmosphere, which is ideal for a casual catch-up. On the flip side, though, it's not without its drawbacks – the limited opening hours mean you have to plan ahead, and being out in that industrial area can make it a bit of a trek if you're coming from further afield. Still, if you're up for an adventure and fancy supporting a community-minded spot that's all about great lager and good times, it's well worth a visit. All in all, it's a solid choice for a memorable outing, as long as you keep those opening times in mind!

It's got a cool, hidden gem feel in an industrial estate, with a good range of pilsners, classic bar snacks, and even food trucks outside for a proper pub experience.
-
They're really supportive of the community, hosting events and competitions that bring people together, which adds a lovely social touch.
Cons
-
It's only open a few days a week, which can be a bit of a nuisance if you're planning a spontaneous visit.
-
Tucked away in an industrial estate, it might take a bit of effort to find and isn't the most convenient spot if you're not local.
-
The operating hours vary and can end fairly early, so you might miss out if you're after a late-night session.

An incredible afternoon! Very informative yet fun, a relaxed brewery tour, with fantastic food pairings - will definitely be back with friends and family!
I was lucky enough to be a judge at the recent London Amateur Brewer's Lager Than Life home-brew competition hosted by Pillars. The whole team are super-supportive of the home brew community and really bent over backwards to make sure the event was a success.
Whilst there I had some of their Vienna lager which was absolutely fantastic, along with a pale lager, which, I guess, is their interpretation of an NZ Pills, that was super clean with a delicious hop profile.
Pillars certainly brew some fantastic lagers, I ended up taking a few bottles of their Eisbock back home, I think they are one of the only UK commercial breweries to brew this style of beer.
Thanks!
Super hip venue tucked away in a corner of an industrial estate. Good range of pilsner, brewery on site and a couple of food vendors/trucks outside. Also classic British bar snacks inside. Nice secret spot to hang out
Popped in by chance. Lovely little taproom and brewery. The staff were fabulous taking time to chat and explain everything. Brewery specialises in craft lagers. Really nice.

I visited over the weekend with a friend for the Brewery tour and had a brilliant day out!
Led by the fantastic beer sommelier Rob, we learned all about the different kinds of beer while sat down enjoying them with foods he had paired with each one (including veggie options!) The tour and tasting was completely conversational with an open Q&A and absolutely no snobbery! Rob even provided recommendations and pairings based on everyone’s favourite beers.
The tour felt different than other brewery tours in that you learned about all kinds of beer beyond what they make in the brewery, as well as advice on how to pair foods with each one. Overall we tried 8 different beers, and with expert knowledge and top ups being offered all around we thought the tour was fantastic value for money.
We stayed around afterwards to enjoy our final drinks in the sunshine. Whether you’re going for the tour or to enjoy some drinks with friends, this is the perfect spot.
Highly recommend to anyone for an afternoon out, and with so much else going on around the estate you can easily make a day of it!
