About This Pub

Ah, Peggy's Skylight – what a lovely find in the heart of Nottingham! I've got to say, it's one of those places that really warms you up with its live jazz sessions; the music is just infectious, drawing you in with everything from heartfelt blues to energetic tributes like the ones for Stan Getz or George Gershwin. The events lineup is always buzzing, and it's clear from the chatter that folks absolutely love the atmosphere – it's intimate without feeling cramped, and the staff go out of their way to make sure you're comfortable, whether you're there for a relaxed afternoon or a full evening out. The food's a real highlight too; that Middle Eastern inspired menu with its tapas-style small plates is full of bold flavours that pair beautifully with a drink or the music, and it's no wonder people rave about it for special occasions like weddings. But, to keep it real, the portions can be a tad skimpy, so you might end up eyeing the menu for seconds if you're after a heartier meal. Still, with such high praise from the crowd – averaging a stellar 4.8 out of 5 – it's a spot I'd happily recommend to mates for a memorable night out, as long as you go in with the right expectations. All in all, it's a fantastic addition to the local scene, blending great tunes, good company, and a bit of culinary flair in a way that keeps you coming back.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The live jazz music is absolutely brilliant – it's got that real soul and energy, with events featuring talented artists like Jack Broadbent and tributes to legends like George Gershwin, making every visit feel special.
  • The staff are so welcoming and attentive, always making you feel right at home, whether you're popping in for a casual session or booking for something bigger like a wedding.
  • The Middle Eastern inspired menu is a delight; those small plates are packed with flavour and served up like tasty tapas, perfect for pairing with a drink and some tunes.
  • The atmosphere is spot on – eclectic, authentic, and intimate, with great seating options that give you a good view, even in a cosy venue like this one outside of the big city lights.
Cons
  • The food portions can be on the smaller side, which might leave you wanting a bit more after those delicious meze plates, so it's worth planning for that if you're really hungry.
  • With the venue only open five days a week and varying hours, it might not always fit into everyone's schedule, which is a shame for such a gem of a spot.

Dropped in for their informal Saturday afternoon session. Thoroughly enjoyed the live music. Staff were very attentive. Food portions were smaller than expected but my gosh! They were delicious. Can't wait to re-attend for another session

Welcome to the show like no other Welcome Booked tickets to visit the Curious Cabaret at Peggy's Skylight Ambiance Eclectic and authentic Menu Great menu served like a tapas Presentation Nice small plates Taste Very tasty but unfortunately still left you hungry and starring at your empty plates. I'm not even fat or overweight!! Costs Over £80 for me and my Mrs and still left we needed to McDonalds but didn't go of course. Why not serve some tapas for those who like it to nibble on whilst being entertained and a lovely meal for those who actually want to have a meal before or during the show. Drinks Good selection of drinks Service: Excellent service Recommendation: Yes but watch out for food bill Score: 4/5

Fantastic experience, everything about this place is so great! So good there are venues like this outside of London! Our party enjoyed everything from the excellent jazz band, the atmosphere and seating (which you can select online), most tables have a good view as it’s not a huge venue. We love the food here, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean tapas style. It’s the sort of place to enjoy with a group of friends or an intimate evening. Definitely be back!

Peggy's hosted our wedding reception in February 2024. We are regular visitors to this fantastic venue and knew that it would be the perfect place for our reception. It certainly was. All our guests enjoyed it so much. The food was delicious, the service was spot on and the band (Sticky Morales) had everyone dancing till they dropped. The most common phrases from friends and family were " The best wedding reception I've ever been to." " The food was fantastic" We both had the best day of our lives. Big Thanks to Rachel, Paul, Val, Megan and all the team xxx
