About This Pub

Oh, the Orange Tree in Totteridge is one of those lovely spots that feels like a breath of fresh air in the middle of London – imagine stepping into a place with that perfect mix of rustic charm and modern flair, where you can unwind with a pint or tuck into some seriously tasty grub. From what I've gathered from folks who've been, the food really shines; think flavourful Sunday roasts packed with trimmings, juicy steaks, and starters like beef croquettes that hit the spot every time. It's got this great atmosphere that's just right for catching up with mates or enjoying a quiet meal, and the outdoor garden is brilliant for soaking up the sunshine with a drink in hand. On the flip side, service can drag a bit now and then, even when it's not packed, so it's probably best suited for evenings when you're not in a rush. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone after a proper pub experience – the highs definitely outweigh the lows, and I'd say it's worth a visit for a relaxed get-together.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • The atmosphere is warm and inviting, blending rural charm with modern style, making it a cosy spot for a relaxed evening or a sunny drink in the garden.
  • Service is generally attentive and friendly, with staff who make you feel looked after and ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • They've got a lovely outdoor space and good parking, which makes it easy to pop in and enjoy without the hassle.
  • It's a great place for various occasions, from impromptu drinks to celebratory meals, with a seasonal menu that caters to all tastes.
Cons
  • Service can be a bit slow at times, even when it's not too busy, which might put a slight dampener on things.
  • Some dishes might leave you wishing for just a tad more portion-wise, like the starters that are tasty but could be a bit heartier.

Great atmosphere, really loved the style of the restaurant, good parking and delicious food. Starters were really flavourful, the beef croquettes had a really nice deep and rich flavour. Wish there was a bit more!! Really loved the duo of pork and scallops, pork was cooked really well and not over cooked. The desserts were really tasty, and very aesthetic.

Gorgeous interior and lovely garden to sit and enjoy drinks! Incredible Sunday Roast with so much flavour! Also so refreshing to be served a Sunday lunch with all of the the trimmings makes a difference to what you usually get when you dine out for Sunday lunch! 10/10 would recommend! Can’t wait to return!

A fantastic experience at the Orange Tree Totteridge! I had the ribeye steak and chips, which was cooked to perfection. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her cheeseburger. We started with the delicious chicken liver pate and beef croquettes, both were well presented and outstanding. The atmosphere was lovely and very elegant, and the service was friendly and excellent. Highly recommended!

The restaurant had a great setup where it almost felt like we had our own personal waitress attentive, friendly, and always making sure we had everything we needed. We went with the set menu, and honestly, it was more than enough. The portions were generous, and every dish was well-prepared. I’m not usually a big fan of dessert, but the brownie they served was something else, rich, perfectly balanced, and truly unique. Definitely a place worth visiting!

We went for a Sunday roast to this pub for the first time. We roast ordered chicken roast , kids fish and chips with few drinks and desert. Everything was delicious and so fresh. The atmosphere was nice and very cosy. However, the service was a bit slow and It wasn’t busy as we’re there around 6pm. We had to wait quite long between drinks . We wasn’t sure if they would have any roast left but they did and it was a good portion too. They had colouring paper and crayons which kept our little one busy and happy. We have recently moved to the neighbourhood and we are glad that we have this gorgeous pub nearby. Definitely will visit again.
