About This Pub

You know, when I popped into Oddfellows Arms, it really gave me that cosy, community feel that you don't always find these days. The staff are absolute gems – so friendly and welcoming, it makes the whole experience feel like catching up with old mates. It's spot on if you're travelling with dogs; they make them feel part of the gang, which is just lovely. And some of the rooms have had a bit of a glow-up lately, with modern touches and sparkling ensuites that show the owners have put in real effort. But, to be fair, not everything's perfect – a couple of areas look a bit tired and could use an update, and that 'Seaview' hype might leave you wanting more, as it's not as straightforward as you'd hope. Still, for a relaxed night out or a simple stay in Blyth, it's a solid pick that balances the good times with a touch of realism.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and warmhearted, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • It's wonderfully dog-friendly, which is a real bonus if you're out and about with your four-legged mate.
  • Some of the rooms have had a fresh renovation, with beautiful decor and modern ensuites that show the owners' effort and care.
  • The pub has a welcoming, homely atmosphere in the bar area, perfect for enjoying a pint and soaking up the vibe.
Cons
  • A few parts of the place feel a bit run down, like they could do with some TLC to freshen things up.
  • The 'Seaview' rooms don't quite deliver on the promise – you might need to stretch a bit to catch a glimpse, which is a tad disappointing.
  • It's fairly basic overall, so if you're after something more luxurious or fancy, it might not quite hit the mark.

Basic but very friendly and warmhearted. My son and Alice both approve. Dog-friendly!

The "Seaview" meant that you could see the sea if you stand on tiptoes and look through a corner of the window. I couldn't see any luxury in the "DeLuxe" double room. Still it was alright, looked a bit run down but was clean. Provided a safe place for our bicycles as well a hair-dryer on request. Pub had a nice atmosphere.

Me and my partner stayed in one of the bedrooms and I found it to be amazing 🥰 the decor in bedroom was beautiful and the ensuite was brilliant, very modern and looked like both had been recently renovated. The owners have clearly spent alot of time, effort and money. We would definitely stay again and would recommend to anyone ❤️

Stayed here before and had as great a stay this time as before... The Bar has had a Facelift (quite literally the day I arrived) which admittedly meant I couldn't use the bar area that day but business was back to full swing from breakfast time of the following morning...👏 Stayed for 2 nights and the breakfasts were excellent and the room more than adequate. Has a lovely couple of days...

We stayed here for a weekend while visiting family. With a st Bernard in tow, this place couldn't have been better! The bar and pub is so welcoming and had a lovely atmosphere. Everything was so homely. The room was clean and even the shared bathroom was immaculate. It had a separate access which was ideal if you're getting back late. Blyth Town was on the doorstep and the harbour too, everything is near! We stayed for Sunday lunch which was delicious and Buddy got a sausage every morning for breakfast. Debs made the stay so lovely and I would 100% stay again!
