About This Pub
You know, I've got to say, Oddfellows in Compton is one of those pubs that just gets it right most of the time – it's got that warm, traditional feel with a menu full of hearty British dishes that never fail to impress. From the moment you step in, the staff are on point, greeting you with a smile and helping you pick the perfect meal, whether it's a sharing starter like the Camembert or a filling main like the lamb pie. It's especially nice for families or if you're popping in with the dog, as they've got options for little ones and a welcoming policy that makes it feel inclusive. That said, it's not flawless; a couple of folks have mentioned the steak can be a tad fatty, which is a shame when the rest of the food is so spot on. Overall, though, with deals like 30% off mains and a cosy atmosphere for winding down, I'd reckon it's a solid choice for a good night out – just keep an eye on their hours to make sure they're open when you fancy a visit. It's all about that balance of simple pleasures and a bit of indulgence, really.
Pros and Cons
Pros

The service is absolutely brilliant – staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and make you feel right at home, just like chatting with old mates.
-
The food is a real treat, with British classics done to perfection, like those tender burgers and homemade kebabs that leave you wanting more.
-
It's a welcoming spot for families and even dogs, with a kids' menu and a relaxed vibe that's perfect for a casual get-together.
-
They've got some cracking offers, like 30% off mains, which makes it great value for a night out without breaking the bank.
-
The atmosphere in that traditional building is charming and cosy, ideal for everything from a quick lunch to a leisurely Sunday roast.
Cons
-
One downside is that some dishes, like the steak in the mixed grill, can be a bit fatty at times, which might disappoint if you're after something spot on.
-
It seems they might have occasional closing times that could catch you out, so it's worth checking ahead to avoid any surprises.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with smiles. Was quickly taken to our table and within a very reasonable time we ordered our drinks and food. When asked about the meals the waitress was very knowledgeable and definitely helped us make the right choice of meal. Once the starters were finished our mains were came stright out. Absolutely amazing feel, amazing food, amazing food. Will definitely be going back!

Warm and friendly welcome when we first arrived and seated. Wait staff were friendly, not overly attentive or in your face which was perfect for us. Food was delicious, lots of options making it difficult to chose what to have.
Overall a lovely evening and would definitely visit again!
Service was excellent. The Camembert sharer was beautifully presented, tasty and plenty for 3 to share. A little let down with the steak on the mixed grill as it was a little bit on the fatty side. But putting that aside all the other meals were excellent.
