About This Pub

Ah, the Navigation – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a warm hug when you walk in, especially if you're in Altrincham and fancy a relaxed spot to unwind. I've heard from folks that the staff are an absolute delight, always up for a laugh and making sure everyone feels welcome, which really sets the tone for a great evening. The drink deals are spot on too, offering brilliant value that lets you enjoy a few rounds without worrying about the wallet. And let's not forget the food; that steak has people coming back for more, cooked just right and paired with sides that hit the spot. It's a proper haven for sports fans as well, with loads of screens showing everything from football to boxing, so you can cheer on your team in comfort. On the flip side, there have been a couple of tales about service slip-ups, like getting the wrong dish if you've got specific dietary needs, which can put a damper on things and means you might have to wait a bit. Overall, it's a solid choice for a casual get-together, but it's more your everyday local rather than somewhere with wow factor, so keep that in mind if you're after something a bit more special. Still, I'd say it's worth popping in for the atmosphere alone – you'll likely leave with a smile.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely lovely and make you feel right at home, always ready with a smile and a chat.
  • Fantastic drink offers that won't break the bank, perfect for catching up with mates over a pint or two.
  • Top-notch food, like that cracking steak that's got people raving – it's a real treat if you're in the mood for something hearty.
  • A brilliant spot for watching live sports with plenty of screens, so you won't miss a moment of the footy or rugby.
  • It's dog-friendly and welcoming to everyone, with a cosy atmosphere that makes it feel like your local go-to.
Cons
  • There have been a few hiccups with food orders, like mix-ups on dietary needs, which can lead to a bit of a wait and frustration.
  • It might come across as a standard local pub without anything too unique standing out, so if you're after something fancy, it could feel a tad ordinary.
  • Opening times seem straightforward, but the occasional inconsistency in schedules might catch you out if you're planning a visit.

Went here last night after work and ordered myself a steak (medium rare) with onion rings as a side. Truly one of the best steaks I've had in a long time. Credit to the chef who I believe is called Jordan, he did a cracking job. Normally I don't eat tomatoes but this time I cleared my plate. I will 100% be dining here again, will be a great place to take the kids to on the weekend.

I come here with my best friend to eat and catch-up. Food majority of the time is fantastic. Last time we went we asked for Gluten free they brought the dish with gluten containing products and had a long wait whilst they replaced it. Edit to add: I appreciate this was a one off. I did mention to the person behind the bar "This needs to be gluten free" several times. I've also had many good times here and the food has always been good. Due to the owners response I have revised up my score.

Bumped a star because this has become one of my favourite boozers in the area. The staff are fantastic and the prices are good. Food is really well priced and we'll cooked. Fairly standard local boozer with a decent menu. Good for watching the footy/sports in the evening.
