About This Pub
You know, when I think about Mr Fogg's Tavern, it's one of those places that just sticks in your mind for all the right reasons, but it's not without its little niggles. The atmosphere is genuinely brilliant – imagine stepping into a cosy, historical setting that feels like a step back in time, with wonderful music playing in the background that really sets the mood. The drinks are a highlight too; they've got an amazing array of gins and beers that are worth savouring, and the food, like those hearty beef or chicken lunches, is spot on when it's available. The team there are always on hand and dressed to impress, which makes the whole experience feel a cut above. On the downside, it does get packed to the gills sometimes, and you might end up squeezed into a tiny spot that disrupts the fun. Plus, if you're popping in later, the menu shrinks a bit, and waiting for service can drag on when it's busy. All in all, it's a gem for a special outing, but I'd suggest aiming for a quieter time to get the best out of it – just be prepared to splash out a little more.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The ambience is absolutely spot on – it's got this charming, historical vibe that makes you feel like you're in another era, perfect for a cosy night out.
-
They've got a brilliant selection of drinks, especially gins and beers, with some real gems that you won't find everywhere else in London.
-
The music is top-notch; it's lively and adds so much to the atmosphere, making every visit feel special.
-
Food options are tasty, like the beef and chicken dishes for lunch, and the starters hit the spot even when the full menu isn't available.
-
The staff are attentive and elegantly dressed, which really elevates the whole experience and makes you feel well looked after.
Cons
-
It can get incredibly busy, leading to cramped seating like small tables in walkways, which might make it hard to relax and enjoy properly.
-
The menu isn't fully available after 8 pm, so if you're planning a late evening, you might miss out on some of the best options.
-
Service can be a bit slow during peak times, which is a shame when you're eager to get stuck into those drinks.
-
It's on the pricey side, with meals adding up quickly – think around 70 quid for lunch with drinks, so it's not the best for a budget night.

Really cool ambience! We really enjoyed the songs, some of the best I’ve heard in London so far. We loved the beers - the full menu was not available post 8 pm but the starters were good
An excellent tavern with a cozy historical interior that you want to look at in all details, while wonderful music, such as 'Maybe it's because am Londoner' performed by Billy & the Londoners, plays in the background.
I also want to highlight how elegantly the staff is dressed.
I decided to order the standard fish and chips
-fish is wonderful with itssoftness and degree of doneness, topped with large sea salt- enjoyed it!😊

Went in for Sunday lunch during our weekend in London. It was excellent, my wife had the chicken and I had the beef and a side of cauliflower cheese and Pigs in blankets. Served quickly with drinks and food. With the service charge around 70 quid. Excellent and thoroughly recommended.
Great vibe and atmosphere!! It was so whimsical, we had a great time. It was super busy, we were put at a small table in the walk way that actually made it hard to enjoy the experience. We had great food and they have great mocktails. Took a while to get served and noticed because of all the larger groups, but overall great space. recommend getting a reservation though!
Mr Fogg's tavern is amazing. I spent both of my trips there upstairs in the gin parlor. The staff is attentive and the management is great. Good drinks and an amazing selection of gins from the past. Look at the list of old gins they have available. When these are gone, they likely will be gone forever. I suggest the Gilbeys from 1960, neat. Great experience and i will be back.
