About This Pub
Ah, McCafferty’s Bar – it's one of those places that just warms your heart the moment you step in, with its authentic Irish charm and that unmistakable pub feel in the heart of North Harrow. I've got to say, the live music really steals the show; it's not just background noise, it's the heartbeat of the place, blending modern bands with traditional Irish melodies that get everyone tapping their feet and joining in. Pair that with the screens everywhere for live sports, and you've got a winner for game days or casual meet-ups with mates. The Guinness is poured to perfection, especially at that cheeky weekday price, and the staff are absolute gems – friendly as can be, making you feel like a regular from the get-go. That spacious outdoor area is a real bonus on sunny days, giving you space to relax without feeling cramped. But, let's keep it real, it's not without its downsides. No food on offer means you might have to pop out for a bite or bring something in, which is handy but not ideal if you're after a seamless night out. And while it's fabulous early on, things can turn a bit chaotic later with the crowds, so if you're seeking a peaceful pint, you might want to time your visit just right. Overall, it's a solid spot for a laugh and some quality time, especially if you're up for the lively atmosphere – I'd definitely recommend giving it a go for a balanced pub experience in London.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The authentic Irish atmosphere really makes you feel right at home, with traditional vibes and a welcoming crowd that keeps things lively.
-
They've got cracking live music and sports screenings on multiple screens, so it's brilliant for catching the big games or enjoying a tune with friends.
-
The Guinness is spot on, especially at a great price like £3.90 a pint on weekdays – it's a proper treat.
-
Staff and locals are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making it easy to strike up a chat and feel part of the gang.
-
There's a massive outdoor area that's perfect for summer evenings, and it's spacious inside too, giving you room to spread out.
-
It's flexible for events like birthdays or parties, and you can even bring in food from nearby spots since they don't serve their own.
Cons
-
They don't serve any food on site, which is a bit of a shame if you're after a full meal – though bringing your own works as a workaround.
-
It can get really busy and noisy later on, turning from a chill spot into a full-on party, which might not suit if you're after a quiet drink.
-
Some folks have mentioned it has an American feel when packed, so it might not hit the mark for a purely traditional Irish pub experience.

Best pub in Harrow, get there early you have nice and chill pub, stay late or get there late and you part and busy pub.
Often live music, massive outdoor area with bar in the summer.
Dont serve food, but allows you to bring in for nearby places and enjoy in there
Great Irish bar in north west London. Really good Guinness at £3.90 a pint Monday to Friday. Stunning decor and all live sports
I didn’t eat anything but I popped in for a quick non alcoholic beverage as I was having my bike serviced in a shop nearby. The landlady, Carol was very friendly and welcoming despite me being dressed in cycling attire. Some of the locals started to come in and were just as friendly and polite. I would love to visit this place again when there’s a full crowd and live music. It advertises live music and pubs that do so are always worth checking out.
had a good time here - went at 10 pm left at 2 am in the morning - good music - both live and dj
they don’t serve food - though you can bring food from outside and have it inside
Very spacious and lively bar in a township that needs it. Could work better with a bowl of Irish Stew & Soda Bread.
Bound to be mental on St Paddy's. When full has an American feel to it.
