About This Pub
Ah, The Queen's Head – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Pinner, with its beautiful Grade II Listed building from the 16th century giving it that timeless charm you'd expect from a classic spot. I've heard from a few folks that the atmosphere alone makes it worth a stop; it's perfect for settling in with a pint or enjoying a hearty lunch. The food really stands out too – fresh panini, lasagne, and those tempting pasta and pizza options come highly recommended, especially with the lunch deals that offer great bang for your buck and no sneaky service charges. The team behind the bar are spot on, always friendly and attentive, which adds to that homely feel. On the flip side, it seems there might be a few bumps if you're planning something like a garden hire for a special occasion, as one person mentioned some confusion over bookings – so perhaps it's wiser to double-check everything if you're eyeing it for events. All things considered, it's a solid choice for a laid-back catch-up with mates, and with its high marks overall, you'd likely leave with a smile, just maybe not if you're after a wide-ranging menu or fuss-free planning.

Be cautious when booking an event!
My partner and I visited The Queen’s Head in February and spoke with the owner about hiring part of the garden area for some engagement drinks in June. From the outset, we made it clear that, as we’re young and saving for a wedding, we weren’t looking to book a full buffet. Instead, we planned to provide some light food for our guests, with the understanding that many would also purchase food and drinks from the bar.
The owner was initially very accommodating and confirmed our booking, agreeing to our plans and being happy with this arrangement — we were absolutely thrilled. We sent out invitations to friends and family travelling from across the country to celebrate with us.
Unfortunately, the excitement didn’t last.
Over the following two months, we were stuck in back-and-forth discussions trying to resolve the food situation (despite it being agreed). Although we disclosed our budget from the beginning and agreed an arrangement, the pub cancelled our booking, stating we weren’t spending enough on food. We explained again that guests would also be buying their own food and drinks, and we even offered to double the minimum spend because we were confident our group would exceed it.
Eventually, the booking was reinstated, and we continued trying to meet the pub’s ever-changing requirements. Although our original terms had been agreed, we stretched ourselves significantly — agreeing to spend twice what we had initially budgeted, just to keep the booking.
Then came the final blow: our booking was cancelled again, this time because the pub had received a more lucrative request for the same date.
It’s appalling etiquette to even consider new bookings for a date you’ve already confirmed with someone else. We were devastated — left with just two months to find a new venue for our engagement celebration, despite doing everything we could to make it work.
Our excitement about our engagement was overshadowed by this experience with The Queen’s Head. What should have been a simple, joyful event became stressful and disheartening. Very disappointing.
We came across this charming pub while visiting Pinner for the day. The Pasta lunch deals were too good not to pass up on, and we were not disappointed in the quality or the quantity. The staff were lovely, and the venue was spotlessly clean. And the pub’s atmosphere was worth the visit alone. I had the Angus Beef Lasagna, and my wife had the Spinach and Ricotta Cannelloni. We could not falt either dish.
Delicious Panini and lasagne for lunch, fresh ingredients. No service charge included in the bill which is nice. We'll definitely come back. Thanks 🩷
I wonder example of a 16th Century pub, once a coaching inn. It makes the heart of Pinner, a superb London suburb.
Pizza and pasta are the only food options.
Absolutely beautiful Grade II Listed building
A fine old hostelry from 1705 serving ale and food to the good people of Pinner. It retains its integrity and is a charming and atmospheric pub. Now with an extensive pizza menu.
