About This Pub
Ah, Market House in Brixton – it's one of those places that just draws you in with its energetic feel and friendly faces. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the atmosphere is spot on for a casual get-together or a fun evening out, and the staff really go the extra mile to make sure you're looked after. The food stands out too; think hearty portions that leave you satisfied, with tasty options like fish and chips or honey chicken that folks rave about. And don't miss the cocktails on happy hour – they're a proper treat and add to the whole experience. On the downside, it's a shame when orders get muddled, as that can put a damper on things, and some have mentioned drinks not packing the punch they expected, which might disappoint if you're after something strong. Still, with a solid 3.9 rating overall, it's clear this spot does a lot right, and I'd say it's worth popping by for a relaxed meal or drinks, just keep in mind those little niggles to manage your expectations. All in all, it's a decent choice for us lot looking for a good time in London without the fuss.

Cons
-
Orders can sometimes get mixed up, which might leave you waiting or dealing with a bit of hassle.
-
Drinks like the rum punch can be inconsistent, with some feeling they're not as strong as they'd like.
-

-
It's not ideal for families as they don't allow anyone under 18 after 7pm on weekends, which could limit your options.

It's now paddys yard. Nice place nice staff great cocktails on happy hour. Will try food next visit smelled so good.
So before I went I've read up on the place and it was recommended. I went as soon as they opened on a Saturday. I knew what I wanted and got the fish and chips and oxtail. Both were amazing. I can understand why some people may have the issues that they had but luckily I didn't experience anything remotely close to those issues. The only disappointment was the server had no idea what SoCa music was.
When we arrived we were sat promptly in a space perfect for our size group and the atmosphere was great. The rum punch comes as a large portion, the first time we came the rum punch was much stronger but this time around it was made quite weakly, I normally take a while to drink beverages with alcohol but I drank this round like it was just juice. The food arrived quickly and was absolutely amazing, tasty, visually appetizing and very filling! The only reason I have given 4 stars is because of the toilets. They're unisex toilets which I understand is the way of the world nowadays and due to the lack of space the restaurant has, but what alot of us felt uncomfortable with was the size of the gap under the toilet door! Anyone could take an easy peek under, it reminds me of those saloon doors you see in those western movies. Nonetheless, I would definately come back here to eat but I want to try out their Sunday Roast! Though I am saddened that Curried chicken was taken off the menu.
They were keen to let you know how long you have the table for. Then messed up 3 orders. They did take the them off the bill in fairness. Shannon was a good waitress/host and made sure things got done. Give the girl a pay rise. The full 4 stars go to her. My food was good honey chicken and Plantain but others not so great which is why I have marked down. Atmosphere wasn’t anything special.
Portion sizes were really good, everyone was full, no complaints. Atmosphere was amazing. Chef came out to greet us, which was great. Service was good, staff really friendly. Would definitely eat there again.
