About This Pub
Ah, The Whiskey Tumbler – it's one of those spots that just draws you in with its cosy charm and that genuine Irish feel, tucked away in Brixton. I have to say, the staff really make the place; they're so approachable and eager for a chat, which makes grabbing a pint feel like catching up with old friends. The Guinness is spot on, and they've got this amazing array of whiskies and cocktails that I'd happily recommend for a special treat. Plus, the decor with all the Irish memorabilia, a fireplace, and even books and games scattered about, gives it such a homely atmosphere – it's perfect for a relaxed evening or when there's live music pumping up the energy. But, fair's fair, it's not all roses; I've heard a few grumbles about security being a tad heavy-handed, like keeping an eye on you unnecessarily or making you wait outside, which can kill the buzz a bit. And let's not forget, the prices are a step up, so you might want to budget accordingly if you're planning a big night. Overall, it's a gem for a good time with mates, as long as you're okay with the occasional downside – I'd definitely pop in again for another round!

Cons
-
Security can be a bit overzealous at times, like making you wait outside even when there's space, which might put a damper on your night.
-
Prices are on the steep side – for instance, £27 for two old fashions feels a touch pricey for what you get.
-
It closes a bit early on weekdays, like at 11pm, which is a shame if you're hoping for a late one midweek.

Had to wait outside despite an obvious space being available seemed like just the security flexing tbh, he also kept a close eye on the two of us from the door for absolutely no reason. We waited patiently outside and weren't drunk. We sat quietly at the bar. Prices were steep £27 for two old fashioned's, nice cozy place but wasn't anything going on just couples in booths so we left after one drink. Nice to take a date if you're happy to pay those kind of prices but for me I'd rather go somewhere where I feel welcomed and the prices are a bit more reasonable.
I went here on Friday night and this place is something else! Loads of Irish memoribilia throughout the bar which gives it an authentic feel. When I walked in I was greeted at the bar, I ordered my pint and the guy said grab a seat and they would bring it over for me.
The Guinness is very good, and up there with the other popular bars throughout London for Guinness. The Murphy's was superb! Well worth a visit for a pint of this. Reasonable at £6.70 a pint.
Now onto the whiskey sour that I ordered, this was brilliant and so nice! So refreshing 👌. I had to order another one! I really recommend this bar, staff are engaging and the service is good!
So welcoming! Lovely pints of Murphy’s. Cosy atmosphere. Nice looking cocktails and crisps. Will definitely be back!
Great Irish themed pub with plenty of standing room when busy (with shelves for you drinks). Amazing selection of Irish Whiskeys and a sampling of other whiskies from around the world. Great pint of @Guinness. Pity it closes at 11pm midweek - looks like local council is out of touch here.
LOVE this venue. The staff are so nice, chatty and friendly, they make a fabulous cocktail and of course pour a perfect Guinness. The venue is small but with some tables in the back and fireplace, surrounded by books & games. Live music when we went on a Sunday so the place was packed but in a great way. Excellent vibes all around, my new favourite local.
