About This Pub
Oh, what a treat Maddens Bar is, tucked away in East Finchley – it's one of those places that just draws you in with its welcoming energy and that genuine community feel. From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, the staff are an absolute delight, always ready with a smile and making sure everyone feels right at home, which really sets the tone for a great night out. It's fantastic for live music; whether you're there for a band or an impromptu session, it adds such a lively spark to the evening. And if you're into your sports, it's spot on with loads of screens for watching the big matches, paired with that classic pub hospitality that keeps things buzzing. On the flip side, though, some of the performers can be a bit uneven – not every singer steals the show, so it might not always be a full house of hits. Plus, the hours do seem to fluctuate a little, which could catch you out if you're popping by on a whim. All in all, it's a solid spot for a pint and a chat, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area, as long as you go in with an open mind for the occasional off-note.

I go to see the Ronnie Gordon Band who perform at Maddens two Thursdays a month, but not consecutive Thursdays. There is always a great atmosphere and a great friendly vibe on the aforementioned nights. However, some of the singers are not that good, but the band is always really good.
What a brilliant find!
My friend was looking for a place to watch the football today. Big game Liverpool x Arsenal! Brilliant vibe, lots of screens and great hospitality. It’s a lovely spot for a quick drink before heading into town or sitting down to have an evening drink after work. I will defo be back.
What an absolute gem of a bar. You'd be forgiven for not giving it a second glance if walking by, but it actually has so much character. Went in for a daytime pint with my father while up visiting a grave nearby in Islington cemetary and there was an impromptu Irish music session on that afternoon which was absolutely brilliant. The Guinness was decent and reasonably priced too. Staff very friendly. I'd say this can turn into a lively spot if there is music in the evenings. I'll have to return.
I went here to see a musician friend play (Tom McQ) and was made so welcome by the staff and the owner and the clientele were a friendly bunch too - live music, a friendly venue what more could
you ask for - thank you!
