About This Pub

Ah, Lyndon House – it's one of those places that just draws you in with its mix of traditional pub feel and handy hotel stays, right in the thick of Walsall. From what I've gathered chatting about it, the staff are absolute stars; they're so welcoming and go out of their way to make your visit memorable, whether you're popping in for a pint or settling in for the night. The drinks selection is brilliant, with excellent real ale and craft beers that pair perfectly with their solid food offerings – I'm talking tasty breakfasts, proper Sunday roasts, and a menu that's got something for most tastes. Plus, the live music and cosy open fire add a lovely touch of entertainment that keeps things lively without being overwhelming. On the flip side, though, it's not without its quirks; some rooms feel a bit worn out with creaky floors that might keep you up, and there've been a couple of stories where service didn't quite live up to the hype, leaving a few feeling a bit put out. Overall, it's a solid choice if you're after good value and a relaxed spot to unwind, but it might not be the fanciest option out there – still, I'd say it's worth a visit for the positives alone, as long as you go in with realistic expectations.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, always making you feel right at home with their warm welcomes.
  • They've got a fantastic selection of drinks, including top-notch real ale and craft beer that really hit the spot.
  • The food is a highlight – think quality breakfasts, hearty Sunday roasts, and a pub-style menu that's cooked just right.
  • Rooms are clean and comfortable, with comfy beds and good value, especially if you're after a budget-friendly stay.
  • It's got a great vibe with live music, tribute bands, and an open fire that creates a cosy, welcoming atmosphere.
  • Convenient location in the heart of Walsall, just a short walk from the train station and town centre shops.
Cons
  • Some areas, like the rooms, could do with a bit of a refresh – creaky floors make it feel a tad outdated.
  • There have been a few reports of inconsistent service, where folks felt unwelcome or treated unfairly, which is a real shame.
  • It might not suit everyone if you're after something super modern or polished, as the quirky traditional style has its rough patches.

Staff helpful and friendly, breakfast made with quality ingredients. Rooms were clean and serviceable but would benifits from a renovation. floors very creaky.

Quirky but very friendly bar/hotel... Excellent beer, and superbly comfortable bed! Also just far enough out of Walsall town center. Excellent location. Recommended!

Very disappointed with the disrespectful and discriminatory attitude of staff here. Told to take cap off, yet there was an older gentleman at the bar wearing a flat cap 🤔 made us feel very unwelcome and will not be re-visiting when we cannot get the same treatment as other people.

Excellent value with large rooms and comfy beds. Cheap bar especially between 4-7pm. Breakfast was excellent

This is a little gem of a place, the staff are amazing and so friendly, I stay here whenever I am in the area and it never fails. It's nice and quiet but still with a great atmosphere, the pub style menu has a good range and all cooked very well, nothing is too much trouble and you get the highest customer service. Rooms are quite spacious, slightly dated but it adds to the theme of a tradition building and everything you need is there. My go to place for the Birmingham area
