About This Pub

Ah, La Dolce Tavola – what a gem of an Italian spot in Rugby! From chatting about the reviews, it's clear this place really shines with its food; think homemade pasta and pizzas that taste straight out of Italy, with portions so generous you'll be loosening your belt after. The service stands out too – they're quick to make you comfortable, whether it's a special request or just a warm welcome that makes the evening flow nicely. It's got that cosy, family vibe that makes you feel like you're dining with old mates, and it's buzzing enough on a weeknight to add to the fun. But, let's be honest, it's not all smooth sailing; I've heard a tale or two about strict booking rules that might catch you out if plans change, even when it's quiet as a mouse. Still, with so many folks raving about it, I'd say it's well worth popping in for a bite – just plan ahead and you'll likely have a cracking time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely authentic and delicious, with generous portions that leave you feeling well satisfied after a meal.
  • Service is spot on – they're incredibly attentive and quick to help, like sorting cushions for those with disabilities without a fuss.
  • The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a lovely spot for a special occasion or a casual night out.
  • It's a family-run business, which adds a personal touch and makes you feel right at home.
  • With a solid 4.7 rating from plenty of happy visitors, it's clear this place knows how to deliver a memorable experience.
Cons
  • There might be a sting with booking policies, like getting charged for a no-show even if the place is empty, which could leave a sour note.
  • The operating hours seem a bit muddled, so it's worth double-checking to avoid any disappointment if you're planning a visit.
  • While most feedback is glowing, it's not perfect, and you might find the occasional hiccup that doesn't quite live up to the hype.

This place is a gem. Great welcome and seating. I am disabled and needed some cushions which staff got for me instantly. The menu is extensive and includes all the Italian usuals plus lots and lots more. Very varied and interesting. Food was served promptly and portions are very generous. Didn't feel rushed. Easily accessible with crutches or by chair. Some help may be needed but the staff were so genuine and helpful it's not a problem. Fully accessible WC. Highly recommend and we will be going again.

Brilliant little Italian restaurant. Great food an great service, however a little disappointed due to the fact we booked a table for 4, unfortunately 1 couldn't make it. Wasn't a single other person in the restaurant and was told we would be charged for the missing persons deposit, we sat at the same table as there are none available for 3 anyway 🤷🏻‍♂️ no other customers. It's great food and service but I would strongly advise against booking as I found it very cheeky. (Could completely understand if they were booked up or even a few guests or if we had all failed to show up)

Fantastic little authentic Italian restaurant. Visited for my son's 16th Birthday and had an excellent dinner. Food was hot, fresh and well presented. The pasta was homemade and cooked to perfection. The pizzas were as good as we've had in Naples. Was nice and busy for Tuesday night which is great to see in challenging times for hospitality. Well done everyone!

An absolutely gorgeous restaurant with delicious authentic fresh food. Was my first visit on a Thursday night and went solo as I've just moved to the area. The buffalo mozzarella salad was gorgeous with lovely sweet tomatoes, avocado and pesto. I then had the prawn risotto with asparagus which was great too. Nice polite service and I had a quick conversation with a lady named Veronica who was really pleasant and friendly too. Am already looking forward to returning.
