About This Pub

Oh, let me tell you about the Lichfield Arms – it's one of those classic pubs that just hits the spot for a laid-back night out. I love how it keeps things traditional, with that genuine, homely feel where you can kick back with a well-poured pint and chat away. The drinks are spot on, from the real ales to the wines, and the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome, which really makes the place shine. Plus, those Sunday roasts sound like a treat, and it's handy that you can bring in a chippy from across the road. On the flip side, it's a bit tucked away, so you might miss it if you're not looking, and without a website or many recent chats online, it's not the easiest to plan a visit. Still, if you're after a proper local experience with a community spirit and some darts action, it's well worth popping in – just give them a call to sort out any bookings and avoid missing out.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • It's a proper traditional pub with that warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home, just like chatting with old mates over a pint.
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and always up for a chat, which really adds to the cosy vibe.
  • They've got a great selection of drinks, including well-kept real ales, quality lagers, wines, and spirits, perfect for a relaxed evening.
  • Sunday roasts are a highlight – absolutely worth trying, though you'll want to book ahead to snag a spot.
  • It's spotlessly clean, which is always a plus when you're settling in for a few hours.
  • You can pop over to the chippy opposite and bring your takeaway back to enjoy with a drink, adding a nice touch of convenience.
  • Regular darts matches and a community feel make it a fun spot for locals and visitors alike.
Cons
  • There's not much of an online presence, like no website, so it might be tricky to check opening times or book in advance without giving them a ring.
  • As a back-street local, it could be a bit out of the way if you're not familiar with the area, and it doesn't seem to have many recent reviews to keep the buzz going.
  • With only a handful of reviews available, it might not have the same level of variety or excitement as busier spots, and you'll definitely need to plan ahead for popular events like the roasts.

Proper back street local serving one well kept real ale along with quality lagers wines and spirits. Traditional chippy opposite and the landlord allows you to eat the takeaway in the pub when buying a drink.
