About This Pub
You know, when I popped into the Duke's Head Hotel, it really struck me as one of those classic pubs that just draws you in with its friendly buzz and historical feel – it's got that proper old-school charm you'd expect in Great Yarmouth. Most people seem to love the staff, who are often spot on with their hospitality, and the deals on drinks and food make it a wallet-friendly choice for a catch-up with mates. The grub sounds ace too, with recommendations for things like homemade pizzas and chunky chips that hit the spot after a long day. On the downside, I've heard a few tales of staff not being at their best, like that unfortunate run-in with a barman, and some punters can be a bit rowdy, which might spoil the fun if you're after a relaxed pint. All in all, it's a solid pick for a good time, but it's worth going in with an open mind to enjoy the highs and navigate the lows – just like any good pub yarn.

Rude staff(barman on 17th March 2024), nasty customers, who got involved in business that has NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM.
You have lost future business as the person your staff booted out FOR NO GOOD REASON(other than stopping a DIABETIC lad having a sugary drink because his blood sugar was dangerously low) was going to book his next milestone birthday there and could have bought in a LOT of business.
Big Tasty invited the two individuals you kicked out, so your staff had no right as it's the artists perogative who goes to see them perform, drink or no drink.
Your pub is meant to be a GAY FRIENDLY place but clearly your staff missed the memo, as the two you kicked out are a QUEER COUPLE. Homophobes!!!!!!
Remembering this establishment when former friends Jenny and Barry were landlady/landlord in the early/mid 1980’s where we stayed in the rooms upstairs overlooking the backyard which was the scene of a hanging of a young girl in a previous century. This pub is steeped in history and is actually haunted by the said young girl. I’ve been back just a couple of times since and like everything else, has changed, not for the better in my opinion.
Warm, friendly and fantastic value for money.
Lovely duo who host most events and are there to welcome customers old and new. Food is delicious and on deals Mon/tues/weds. Reccomend the chunky chips and homemade pizzas.
Large cocktail menu and full of atmosphere which is hard to find in the current climate.
A brilliant discovery. You are made to feel exceptionally welcome. Super drink deals and the food I saw others eating looked absolutely lovely. The bar staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is just great.
The dukes head is the best public house I have ever stepped foot in, Hollie behind the bar is a fantastic host, Also everyone who drinks in there are a lovely crowd and makes anyone feel welcome, If you are looking for a great night I would highly recommend this pub! Keep the good work up guys! 👌👍🍺
