A beautiful old building with history, very high standards and great rooms. The staff were extremely welcoming, the food (evening meal and breakfast) was very good and the whole stay (one night for work) was excellent. Would definitely return.
My wife and I stayed here two nights. Breakfast, that was included, was really good. We also ate dinner here on Mothering Sunday, and that was also very good, albeit a little oily. Our room was superb, all the staff were great. It's a beautiful rural village with a few good walks right out the front door. Highly recommended.
Fantastic little find its quiet and very pretty little pub with plenty of room.
Food is delicious and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
They don't do table service outside, which is fine but they also don't bring starters and main separately, they bring them all out simultaneously which is a strange thing to do especially when its not busy.
We had a great time here. Loved the village and the accommodations. They have classic, deluxe, and family rooms, which all come with breakfast. You have a choice of cereal, fresh fruit or have them cook something off the menu. The French toast is amazing! Their beer on tap is well known. The whole area is pet friendly! There is a grocery store, a pharmacy and lots of other pubs around
We recently visited The Legh Arms for a Sunday roast, drawn in by what sounded like a delicious menu. Unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations.
Service was average—not for lack of effort from the staff, who were clearly rushed off their feet. It seemed like they could have used at least a couple more team members to keep things running smoothly. While we understand that busy periods can be challenging, the wait times and lack of attention to detail made the experience less enjoyable.
The biggest letdown, however, was the food. The pork crackling was simply dreadful—completely lacking in flavor and, worse, half of it was so tough and chewy it was inedible. The portion size of the roast beef was disappointing; my husband was still hungry after finishing his meal, which isn't what you'd expect from a proper Sunday roast. I opted for the Sunday roast ciabatta, but the beef inside was so tough that I had to take the sandwich apart and eat the components separately. If we hadn't been on a schedule, I would have sent it back.
Overall, we left feeling let down, especially as we had chosen The Legh Arms over another local pub based on the promising menu. With better staffing and a serious improvement in the quality of the food, it could be a great place for a Sunday roast—but based on this experience, we won’t be rushing back.
