About This Pub

Oh, what a treat Leeds Arms is – it's one of those pubs that just draws you in with its cosy, historic feel, especially knowing it's been around since 1605, making it the oldest in Scarborough. From what I've gathered from folks' chats, the atmosphere is spot on, with friendly locals creating that perfect buzz without any of the hustle and bustle from the main strip, and the beers are top drawer, whether you're after a classic real ale or something a bit more crafty. The staff seem to go the extra mile to make sure you're looked after, and it's great to see it's dog-friendly too, so you can bring the whole family along. On the flip side, the opening times can be a tad confusing with varying schedules, and without a website or phone number, it's not the easiest to get the lowdown beforehand – but if you do make it in, I reckon you'll be glad you did. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone wanting a genuine, no-fuss pub experience in Scarborough, though it might not suit if you're after something more modern or easily accessible online.

Cons
  • The opening hours can seem a bit all over the place, which might catch you out if you're trying to plan a visit.
  • There's no website or phone number listed, so it's tricky to check details in advance – you might just have to pop by and hope for the best.

I would put my neck on the block and say Leeds Arms is the standout pub in Scarborough. Fantastic atmosphere from the locals, really good quality beer, and nice being a couple of streets back from the mayhem of the main strip.

According to google this pub was built in 1605 which makes it the oldest in Scarborough. It was a pleasure to have a cold pint of guinness in this place. Great and cozy atmosphere.

Great little hidden away local pub. Very cosy with friendly and helpful staff. Great range of craft beers available including The Leeds Brewery favourite pale ale! Lovely interior decor serving memory of the past Scarborough fishing history. Dog friendly. Highly recommended!!
