The Frigate in Scarborough

You know, I had a lovely time at The Frigate the other day, and I reckon it's one of those hidden treasures in Scarborough that just makes you smile. The staff, particularly Marie, are an absolute delight – always ready with a friendly word, a joke, or a spot-on drink recommendation that leaves you feeling right at home. The beers are cracking, and there's a real homely charm to the place with its quirky decor and those little quotes everywhere that give it so much personality. Sitting outside with a pint and that beautiful sea view is just the ticket for a chilled afternoon, and it's great that you can bring in fish and chips from the chippy next door without any bother. It's also super welcoming for dogs, which is a nice touch if you're out and about with your furry companion. On the flip side, it does tend to open a bit later in the day, so if you're an early bird, you might have to wait it out. And being on the smaller side, it can get cosy when things pick up, which might not suit if you're with a big crowd. Still, with its affordable prices and that genuine, feel-good atmosphere, I'd say it's well worth a visit for anyone looking for a proper, unpretentious spot to enjoy a drink and some good company.
