About This Pub
Ah, the Larkhall Inn – it's one of those pubs that just warms your heart the moment you step inside, like bumping into an old friend who's full of stories. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this lovely traditional feel that harks back to how pubs used to be, with a big beer garden that's spot on for a sunny afternoon or a chilled evening under the stars. The service is spot on too, with staff who are genuinely welcoming and make you feel part of the gang, and the drinks are reasonably priced, so you can enjoy a pint without worrying about the tab. On the flip side, it does get a bit hectic and noisy when it's busy, which might not suit everyone if you're after a quiet nook for a deep chat. Plus, it's quite set in its ways, focusing on the locals, so if you're hoping for a more contemporary twist or a buzzing all-day spot, it might fall a tad short. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone wanting an honest, down-to-earth pub experience in Bath – just go with the flow and you'll have a cracking time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The Larkhall Inn has a wonderfully traditional atmosphere that feels like stepping back in time, making it a real gem for anyone craving that authentic pub vibe.
-
Friendly and attentive service from the staff, with a warm welcome that makes you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
Reasonably priced drinks, like a solid pint of Guinness or Amstel, which won't break the bank and add to the overall charm.
-
A fantastic outdoor space with a big beer garden, perfect for enjoying a drink on a sunny day or under an umbrella when it's warm.
-
It's cosy and relaxed, ideal for catching up with friends over a pint in a laid-back setting.
Cons
-
It can get quite busy and loud at times, which might make it hard to have a quiet chat if you're after a more peaceful evening.
-
The pub seems to cater mainly to locals and sticks to its traditional roots, so it might not appeal to those looking for something a bit more modern or varied.
-
With such a large space, it's a shame it's not busier or drawing in a wider crowd, as it has the potential to be an even bigger community spot.

Large pub, quite traditional, seems to cater mostly to locals. Friendly service. With such a fantastic outdoor space, and with a huge footprint, this should be an absolutely fantastic community hub - if it catered to a wider audience it could be busy all day long. As it is, its an authentic no frills pub.
Like stepping back to a simpler, nicer time. This is how pubs used to be. You can actually sit at the bar on a stool! Reasonably priced beer and attentive service. If you are just looking for a pint and a nice atmosphere this is the place.
A traditional British pub with a great atmosphere and helpful staff. Perfect place to have a pint with friends. Warm and cosy at night. Very busy and loud, however!
Dropped in for a pint of Guinness on Tuesday night as daughter on a social with bath npl’s under21’s - warm welcome and an excellent pint.
Lovely old school pub. These wonderful places are sadly becoming a thing of the past. Great cheery landlord and a lovely chilled atmosphere from the off. Sat in the big beer garden under a umbrella, as today is a very hot day. Lovely pint of Amstel and a pack of porkies, just what a pub should be like in my eyes. No frills, just about the beer on the pump and a great host. 5***** for me.
