About This Pub
Ah, KK McCools – what a lovely little spot it is, tucked away in London. I've got to say, it's one of those places that really captures the essence of a proper British pub, with its high shelves of books and dark wood everywhere, giving off that cosy library vibe. The staff are just brilliant, buzzing around like they've got it all under control, and the locals are friendly sorts who'll even make room for you at a table. Prices are dead reasonable too, so you can kick back with a pint without it costing the earth. And let's not forget the fun bits: a cracking jukebox, a pool table for a bit of banter, and they even show Gaelic football games, which is a nice touch if you're into your sports. But, honestly, there was that one review that stuck with me – apparently, they sometimes reserve certain drinks like Guinness just for the regulars, which feels a bit off and could leave you feeling like an outsider. Still, with an overall rating pushing 4.4, it's clear most folks have a great time here. If you're after a relaxed evening in a genuine pub setting, I'd give it a go, but maybe pop in with a mate first to get the lay of the land.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
It's got that authentic, old-school pub vibe – think dark wood furniture, shelves of books, and a proper cosy feel that makes you want to settle in for the evening.
-
The staff are absolute stars, multitasking like pros and making everyone feel welcome, with locals even shifting around to free up a table.
-
Prices are spot on for a budget-friendly night out, so you can enjoy a decent pint without worrying about the wallet.
-
They've got fun extras like a brilliant jukebox, a pool table, and they show Gaelic football games, which is great if you're a fan.
Cons
-
There was that awkward moment where they said Guinness was only for regulars, which could make newcomers feel a bit left out and not so welcome.
-
The operating hours seem a tad inconsistent from what I've seen, so it might be worth double-checking before heading over.

As it’s always been, an authentic proper boozer. No hipsters, no vacuous people, just its regulars. It’s the same as it was when I was a kid. Love it.
I've run and walked past this place for 13 years and never gone in. My partner had a call of nature so we did. Lovely friendly place, great bar staff multitasking like crazy, great prices, Tayto crisps and locals who moved around to free us up a table to sit at. Coming back very soon.
Went in for a pint of Guinness but was told that ‘Guinness is for regulars only’ as they ‘only have half a barrel left’.
So a pretty awful way to make a punter feel welcome (or form a connection with potential new regulars)
A magic place of wonder. Seems nothing special but inside its a proper pub , brilliant juke box, very decent pints, taytos , the lot. I loved it
A cozy local’s pub. I love the library feel - ceiling high shelves of books and dark wood furniture. They pour a great Guinness and show all Gaelic football games 🇨🇮 The best part is the pool table! It’s a good spot for a quiet drink or two 🍻
