About This Pub
You know, I had a lovely time at The Palm the other day, and I reckon it's one of those pubs that really knows how to make you feel welcome – the staff are just brilliant, always up for a chat and making sure everything's spot on. They've got this fantastic range of drinks, from craft beers to interesting wines, and the food menu is a real treat, with everything from juicy burgers to fresh tacos that leave you wanting more. It's a great spot for catching up with friends or even popping in with the dog, as they're super accommodating. On the downside, it does fill up quickly, so you might struggle to find a seat without planning ahead, and sometimes the buzz from families and groups can make it a tad chaotic if you're in the mood for a peaceful pint. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good night out, but just keep those little niggles in mind to set your expectations right.

A few folks have mentioned it feels a bit like a family hangout spot at times, which isn't ideal for everyone seeking a traditional pub feel.

Really nice pub, with varied seating for either small groups, large groups or just couples (and dare I say an old fashioned solo pub drinker!).
Always has a good selection of beers, wines and spirits and has a good food menu.
Generally it is quite busy, and so it can be difficult to get a table if you're a walk in, especially on a Sunday when they do roasts.
Staff are always friendly and serve the bar efficiently.
Warm and welcoming to us and our dog on a blustery day. Delicious food and wine. Would have stayed longer only we couldn't hear ourselves after the arrival of a noisy group of parents & children surrounding our table.

Absolutely love the palm and the wonderful friendly staff. The *only* negative is that the atmosphere can often feel like a nursery/after school club. It very much kills the vibe on a Friday evening when you want to have a drink/dinner at the end of the week. If the pub was bigger, I'm sure it would be less of an issue, but honestly it's out of control to the point of being comical.
Ten to One cocktail bar is over the road though, so we go there instead if it's full of 50% kids. Such a shame as The Palm really is a brilliant pub with great food & drinks.
Nice pub, friendly staff with a good selection of drinks. However there are too many kids, too many prams and too many dogs. It’s a case of have one and let’s move on to another pub. I don’t think alcohol and kids mix in my opinion. No doubt someone is reading this and hopes I die. Overall this is a place where people called Flick drink in. This pub has a past (formally the Lord Palmerston) and it’s been erased, that’s for sure. FYI, the owners of True Craft own this place as well. A ruthless business posing as a community pub, no mate. Got to give them credit though they have the cleanest most stylish pub toilets I’ve ever seen. Gentrification at its finest.
Great pub and really friendly staff! The have a really interesting wine list which was brilliant and great to try some different and slightly unusual wines, including an Austrian white and a Greek white wine (their house wine).
We just came in for drinks and chips (which were excellent!) and we will definitely return.
Plenty of indoor seating, and a lovely outdoor space too.
