About This Pub

Ah, the Kings Head – it's one of those pubs that really hits the spot for a proper British get-together, isn't it? From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, the food stands out as a real winner; think mouth-watering afternoon teas with fresh scones and cakes that leave you wanting seconds, or hearty meals that impress for special occasions. The team there are absolute gems, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly, which adds to that comfy, homely feel. It's spot-on for a relaxed day out, whether you're with family, friends, or even your dog in tow. But, to keep it real, if you're after top-notch veggie options, you might be a bit disappointed – the vegetarian dishes seem to fall flat with bland flavours and textures that don't quite match the rest. Still, with such a positive buzz overall, I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the Great Yarmouth area; just keep those preferences in mind for a balanced pint and plate experience.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely delicious, especially their festive afternoon tea and meals – it's got me tingling just thinking about those fresh scones and tasty fillings.
  • The staff are so friendly and welcoming; they go out of their way to make you feel at home, even chatting about local spots to visit.
  • It's a cosy and comfortable spot with a great atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed meal or celebrating something special like a birthday.
  • They're dog-friendly, which is brilliant if you're popping in with your four-legged mate.
  • The menu is impressive with plenty of options, and the service is prompt and attentive, making for a really enjoyable experience overall.
Cons
  • The vegetarian dishes are a bit of a letdown – things like the broccoli cheese bake and mac and cheese come across as flavourless and soggy, which is a shame.
  • Some sides, like the chips, are pretty basic and don't quite live up to the rest of the meal, leaving you wanting a bit more excitement.

Took my husband for the festive afternoon tea and it's truly amazing. The food was absolutely delicious. From the fillings in the rolls, the freshly made scones and the little cakes it definitely got our taste buds tingling. The staff are so friendly and a great atmosphere. I would highly recommend this if you want a festive treat. Thank you so much.🎅🎄

Booked a table of 11 and nothing was too much trouble, the food was amazing and everyone enjoyed there meals. The customer service was excellent and the staff were amazing, my mother inlaw absolutely loved it and enjoyed her birthday meal. Definitely will be back when we are in the area again.

Absolutely brilliant. Had a fantastic meal me with my husband. Premises are welcoming ...clean and very comfortable. Staff were lovely and chatted about local areas to visit . The menu is impressive and afternoon tea can be booked for the next day. Definitely going to visit here again before we leave to go home . Thank you "Kings Head" for fantastic meal.

Dog friendly and good, and prompt, service. Ales and gin options. The burgers looked good as from a local butcher, but the vegetarian options are awful. Broccoli cheese bake with soggy veg in a weak 'cheese' sauce and a mac and cheese with a similarly flavourless sauce. The onion rings were crispy, but greasy, and the side veg, equally tasteless (probably frozen).

Very good experience. Had to call ahead to pre-book our fish and chips, but was very impressed with the quality and quantity; the fish filled the plate and was lovely and moist, the batter was well balanced and not full of grease. Chips were a little basic, but didn't detract too much from the meal. We stayed for the charity quiz night which was great fun for a great cause, the atmosphere was brilliant and the range of beers, gins, and other drinks was very good.
