About This Pub
Oh, Burgh Hall in Great Yarmouth is one of those places that just feels like a proper local haunt, you know? It's run by a family who's been in the hospitality game for years, and you can tell they put their heart into it. The food's a standout – think delicious Sunday roasts and carveries that leave you feeling satisfied without breaking the bank, though I've heard a couple of gripes about things like the potatoes not always being spot on. The staff are an absolute delight, always up for a chat and making sure everyone's looked after, which really adds to the warm atmosphere. It's brilliant for families too, with an indoor play area and even a swimming pool to keep the kids entertained while the grown-ups enjoy a pint and catch up on the footie or some live music. Weekends are buzzing with karaoke and performances, but do bear in mind it gets packed, so booking ahead might save you from a wait. All in all, it's a solid spot for a get-together, though it's not flawless – just your typical pub with its highs and the odd off day, but that's what makes it feel real and approachable.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on, especially the Sunday roasts and carvery – they're hearty, tasty, and brilliant value for money, making it a top choice for a proper meal out.
-
It's such a welcoming family-run spot with friendly staff who make you feel right at home, like you're part of the gang rather than just another face in the crowd.
-
Loads of entertainment on offer, from live music and karaoke on weekends to Sky Sports on the big screens, plus a swimming pool and indoor play area that's perfect for keeping the little ones happy.
-
They've got great facilities for special occasions, like a function room for weddings or parties, which adds a nice touch for those planning something memorable.
Cons
-
It can get pretty busy, so you might end up waiting a bit for your food or a table, which isn't ideal if you're in a rush.
-
Some dishes have had mixed feedback, like the potatoes or gravy not always hitting the mark, so it might not be perfect every time you visit.
-
The hours for the restaurant and other bits can be a tad limited, meaning you have to plan around when everything's open, especially midweek.

Come for Sunday roast quite often. Food is always great and very good value for money. Always busy, so recommend booking in advance. Plenty of very friendly staff.
Best place in the borough of Great Yarmouth and district of Waveney for a Carvery bar none!
Myself and my new wife, are writing this review, due to our recent wedding in April, which was held at the licensed chapel, followed by a hot and cold buffet at the plaza suite next to it . The chapel was decorated beautifully and the music was set to our chosen songs for the ceremony , and Donna made sure it all ran smoothly with guests etc . The plaza suite next to it, was stunning with chair sashes matching our themed colours and our very own top table decorated beautifully with a table flower piece, and the other tables with centre piece flowers and fairy lights. We couldn't fault anything, and thank Donna, and all the team and staff that contributed to make our day even more special.
Thank you so much

I’m not going to lie but the meat was nice , peas, carrots you really can’t go wrong with , Yorkshire puds were heavy and stodgy,, gravy was like Lidl gravy like gelatine,, worst part was the potatoes as per pics they actually look like they were done in an air fryer, really wasn’t good and I can’t see how as the mercury said top carvery and that’s why we went there ,, I honestly wish we had gone to Toby and that’s not great at the best of times , music was ok though
The dinners are so yummy and so big! Staff are very friendly! There is a pool table, darts, swimming pool and singers on the weekend. You might wait a little while for your dinner but it will be worth it. Walkable from Cherry Tree.
