About This Pub
Ah, the Kings Head – it's one of those reliable pubs that just gets it right more often than not, isn't it? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food is a real highlight; folks rave about the delicious dishes like the Cheeseburger Flatbread and those tasty small plates, all served up fresh and flavoursome, especially when you're tucking into them with a group. The service stands out too – the team's on point, offering excellent recommendations and handling even the busiest days with a smile, which makes for a pleasant evening whether you're popping in for lunch or celebrating something special. It's got that family-friendly feel with nice touches like the beer garden and car park, plus fun events that add a bit of extra cheer. On the flip side, it does get heaving at times, particularly on weekends, so you might end up waiting a tad longer than you'd like, and being part of a chain, it lacks that bespoke charm some independent spots have. Still, with affordable prices and cracking deals on offer, it's a straightforward, enjoyable spot that I'd happily recommend for a laid-back pint and bite – just keep an eye on the crowds if you're after a quiet one!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on – think hearty pub classics and creative twists like those burgers of the month, all fresh and full of flavour, perfect for a satisfying meal with mates.
-
Service is top-notch; the staff, like Suresh and Owen, are attentive, friendly, and go the extra mile with recommendations and special requests, making you feel right at home.
-
It's brilliantly family-friendly with things like photos with Santa and disabled facilities, plus a beer garden and car park for those lazy afternoons out.
-
They've got cracking deals, such as three small plates for £13.50 or cheap cider offers, which make it a wallet-friendly spot for a good night without breaking the bank.
-
The atmosphere is warm and lively, ideal for celebrating birthdays or just catching up, with a historic pub vibe that adds a bit of charm to the experience.
Cons
-
It can get pretty busy, especially on Sundays, which might mean a bit of a wait for your table or service, even if the team handles it well.
-
As a Greene King pub, it sometimes feels a tad generic compared to more unique local spots, so if you're after something truly one-of-a-kind, it might not quite hit the mark.
-
The menu sticks mostly to pub favourites, so if you're in the mood for something more adventurous or international, you might find the options a bit limited.

A fantastic spot for great food and a lively atmosphere. The menu offers a delicious mix of hearty pub classics and creative dishes, all served fresh and flavorful. The warm, rustic decor and upbeat vibe make it perfect for a night out with friends or a casual dinner. Friendly staff and excellent service round out the experience. Highly recommended for good times and great eats!
It's my second time and I'm delighted again. My children received a small gift from Santa Claus and they could take a photo with him, which was a very nice idea. Delicious food, fresh vegetables, delicious turkey, fresh drinks, delicious cappuccino and dessert. The atmosphere inside is pleasant, festive and cultural. Bathrooms clean, fresh smell. Satisfactory parking.
