About This Pub
Ah, the Kings Arms in Chelsea – it's one of those pubs that feels like a proper local gem, tucked away on Fulham Road. I have to say, what really stands out is how welcoming the staff are; they're always up for a bit of banter and make you feel like you're catching up with old friends. The drinks menu is a winner too, with plenty of craft beers and cocktails that pair perfectly with watching the big games – it's especially lively during events like the Lions Tour, where the screens are on and the excitement builds. That traditional pub atmosphere is spot on for a relaxed afternoon or evening out. But, and I say this honestly as someone who's been around a few spots, the food doesn't always live up to the hype. A few folks have mentioned meals that were a bit bland or underwhelming, like a burger that didn't quite hit the mark, and it's strange not getting that waft of delicious scents when you step inside. Still, if you're not fussed about a full meal and just fancy a pint and some sport, it's definitely worth a visit – just keep your expectations in check for the grub and you'll have a cracking time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready with a smile and a chat to make you feel right at home.
-
They've got a fantastic selection of drinks, from local craft beers to seasonal cocktails, perfect for unwinding with mates.
-
It's a top spot for catching live sports, with a lively atmosphere that really gets going during big matches – especially if you're a footie fan near Stamford Bridge.
-
The traditional pub vibe is spot on, offering a cosy and relaxed corner of Chelsea that's great for casual catch-ups or enjoying a Sunday roast.
-
They do a cracking job with events like screening the Lions Tour, adding to the excitement and making it a fun place to gather.
Cons
-
The food can be a bit disappointing at times, like the burgers that lack flavour and come with average sides – not quite what you'd hope for.
-
Sometimes the atmosphere feels a tad lifeless, even when you'd expect it to be buzzing, which might leave you wanting more energy.
-
It's a bit odd not smelling much food when you walk in, making it seem like it's more about drinks than a full dining experience.
-
With mixed reviews on the grub, it might not be the best choice if you're after a hearty meal rather than just a pint.

It’s so strange to walk into a pub/restaurant and not smell any scent of food. We noticed that no one else was eating (dinner time) so we had a pleasant drink and went elsewhere for food. The place should have a great atmosphere but somehow it is lifeless. Friendly staff. Nice and clean.
Nice little pub with a lot of TVs and a good atmosphere. The food however is not great. We got the burger and it was pretty poor: almost no flavor, not many fillings with average fries. I was expecting a lot better.
A neat 'distressed' pub on the Fulham road in Chelsea, the Kings arms offers a great pint in true shabby chic style. Agool selection of draught tipples, both keg and Cask. Great service from the friendly staff. There is also a selection of beer food ranging from crackling with apple sauce through Mac and cheese to the Kings Sharer for the determined. Good pub for a casual drink and something to eat. Enjoyed. There is also a full menu on offer for those that do.
I only popped in for a nightcap as I was in the area, I didn’t know the pub, but I was served a few drinks by Dave. He greeted me with a smile, had a good knowledge of the spirits selection, and for the hour (ish) I was there he was consistently friendly, helpful, remembered my (admittedly rather specific) drink when I went back to the bar, and made this a place I want to come back to, rather than just another pub I would’ve likely forgotten about. Exceptional service from him at the end of a Sunday night, when, as a manager of a pub myself, all you want to do is close up and go home. I can’t speak for the food as I didn’t eat, but I’ll definitely be returning and I highly recommend.
We had Christmas Day dinner here while on vacation, chosen because it was an easy walk from our flat on a day when public transportation is shut down. Having Christmas dinner in a traditional London pub was great fun. Our food was a pre-ordered three-course dinner; all was delicious. Festive drinks were also great, and we enjoyed chatting with customers at surrounding tables throughout. The service was also good, and we each left with souvenirs from the Christmas crackers provided at each place setting. Not posh, but memorable in a good way.
