About This Pub

Ah, King Street Brew House – it's one of those places that just hits the spot for a good night out in Bristol. I've got to say, their beers are a real highlight; they're brewing their own multi-award-winning ales right there on site, and whether you're into a hazy pale or a strong DIPA, the variety is impressive and full of flavour. Pair that with some solid food options that are well-priced and satisfying, and you've got a winning combo for a casual meal or a big gathering. The staff are an absolute gem, always cheerful and on point, which really adds to the welcoming feel, especially if you're there for live sports or a special event. It's tucked away in a historic part of the city with lovely outdoor seating by the water, making it perfect for soaking up the atmosphere on a nice evening. On the downside, from what I've seen in the reviews, it might not blow your socks off if you're expecting something revolutionary – one person felt it was a bit overhyped, perhaps if the buzz gets your hopes up too high. Still, overall, it's a reliable choice for a pint with mates, and I'd reckon it's worth popping in for the experience.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The beer selection is absolutely brilliant, with their own award-winning brews made on-site – from hoppy IPAs to rich stouts, there's something to suit every taste.
  • The staff are wonderfully friendly and attentive, always quick to help and making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • The food is spot on – tasty dishes with generous portions and good value, perfect for a proper meal alongside your pint.
  • It's got a cracking atmosphere, especially for watching live sports on the multiple screens or hosting events in their function room.
  • The location is just ace, right by the river with plenty of outdoor seating, turning Bristol into your very own beer garden on a sunny day.
Cons
  • One review suggested it didn't quite live up to the hype, perhaps if you're after something truly extraordinary beyond the usual pub fare.
  • It can get a bit bustling during peak times, which might mean waits for service or a table, though that's common in popular spots.

King street Brew House is one of my absolute favourite pubs! The staff are wonderful and super quick and caring about their job and customers. Beer selection is incredibly wide and their gluten free beers are the best in town. Food is also wonderful. Online ordering is quick and easy, also came through super quick! So no worries if you’re wanting to order on the app as it’ll come just as fast as being as being at the bar… which is super fast. Can’t wait to return!

After Graduation this week, I recently visited the King Street Brewery in Bristol. While the location is undeniably lovely, we left feeling that it didn't quite live up to its own hype. Situated near the river, the brewery boasts a charming setting that is perfect for a relaxing drink in an historic street. The ambiance is pleasant, and on a sunny day, it's an ideal spot to unwind and enjoy the surroundings. However, when it comes to the beer and overall experience, the King Street Brewery falls a bit short. The selection of beers is decent, but it lacks the standout options that would make it a go-to destination for craft beer enthusiasts. The flavors were okay, but nothing particularly memorable or distinctive. In terms of atmosphere, the place is nice enough, but it doesn't have the vibrant energy or unique character that some of the other establishments on the street offer. It feels more like a standard pub rather than a standout brewery. The service was adequate, but nothing exceptional. The staff were friendly enough, but there wasn't the same level of engagement or enthusiasm that can make a visit truly special. The pub across the street was truly unique, mind you. While the King Street Brewery is a pleasant place to stop by, it doesn't quite reach the heights of some of its neighboring establishments. If you're in the area, it's worth a visit for the location alone, but if you're looking for the best beer experience on King Street, you might want to explore a few other options. In summary, the King Street Brewery has a lot going for it with its picturesque location near the river, but it doesn't quite stand out among the many great options in the area. It's a good spot for a not so cheap drink, but not the best on the street.

Tried Eat the Bird who are running the kitchen here for the first time having been to their restaurant down in Exeter before. Really nice chicken with good portion sizes. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
