About This Pub

Oh, let me tell you about the Hornet – it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot for a laid-back day out in Rochdale. I love how the staff really make an effort; they're so warm and attentive, like chatting with old friends, and from what I've heard, folks like Tracy and Harry are always on hand to sort you out, whether it's dietary needs or just a friendly hello. The food's a winner too – think generous portions of classics like burgers and gammon that leave you feeling chuffed, especially with those cracking deals that keep things affordable. It's got all the right facilities for families or anyone needing a bit of extra help, which is brilliant for making sure no one feels left out. On the flip side, it's a chain pub, so it doesn't quite have that cosy, one-of-a-kind feel you get in some local spots, and the menu's pretty straightforward without any real surprises to jazz things up. Still, if you're after a reliable place for a good meal and a laugh without breaking the bank, it's definitely worth a visit – I'd say pop in and see for yourself, you might just end up making it your regular haunt.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – always friendly, helpful, and go the extra mile to make sure everyone feels welcome, like that lovely Tracy who's a real star.
  • The food is spot on; from delicious breakfasts to stacked burgers and great deals like Tuck in for a Tenner, it's hearty and satisfying without costing a fortune.
  • It's a proper family-friendly spot with handy facilities like disabled access, outdoor play areas, WiFi, and a car park, making it easy for all sorts to enjoy a visit.
  • The place is spotlessly clean and has a welcoming vibe, perfect for a relaxed meal or a catch-up with mates.
  • With epic daily deals and an affordable menu, it's a wallet-friendly choice that still delivers on quality and portion sizes.
Cons
  • As it's part of a chain, it can feel a tad generic and lacking in that unique local character you might find in independent pubs.
  • The menu sticks to familiar options without much in the way of surprises or innovative twists, which might disappoint if you're after something a bit more exciting.
  • It does get busy at times, especially with families, so you might have to wait for a table or deal with a lively crowd on peak days.

We have just come back from the breakfast with the easter bunny. We really enjoyed it! they put us in a quiet area to help with my sons sensory needs and one of the guests from my party medical issues and they were both able to enjoy the full experience. The easter bunny did keep popping over to us to see my boy. I was worried we would of been forgotton but, he came over and played with my shy little boy, which for me was so lovely to see as he can struggle with these things. The food was amazing very filling i had the full english breakfast, my little boy had the bunny pancakes. My other two guests had The sausage sandwich and the auper special breakfast. We all very much enjoyed the food! the staff was lovely. Thank you for making the easter bunny so special for my boy! Only thing i would mention is the booking service 3 of my guest couldnt makw it and i tried to amend the booking via website and phone call but, it couldnt go through. Apart from that we really enjoyed the morning!
