About This Pub

Well, let me tell you, The Paul Pry is one of those hidden gems in Worcester that just warms your cockles on a chilly evening. I love how they've got this brilliant array of beers – some real unusual ones that you don't find in every local spot, making it a treat for anyone who appreciates a good pint. The staff are just lovely, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly, which really adds to the welcoming feel. It's got that classic pub charm, all cosy and full of character, ideal for sinking into a corner with mates. On the downside, they've had to stop serving food for now, and from what folks have said, that was a standout feature, especially those Sunday lunches that sounded like proper winners. Plus, with the hours being a bit restricted – think mostly evenings and not open every day – it's worth checking ahead so you don't turn up to a closed door. All in all, if you're after a solid spot for drinks and good company, it's definitely worth popping in, but just keep those food cravings in mind for another time.

Pros and Cons

  • The beer selection is absolutely top-notch, with a great range of unusual brews that really hit the spot.
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • It's got that charming, quirky traditional vibe – think a cosy old pub with plenty of character, perfect for a relaxed catch-up.
  • When they've got it going, the Sunday lunches sound like an absolute treat, based on what regulars rave about.
Cons
  • They're not serving food at the moment, which is a real pity as it used to be a highlight from the reviews.
  • Opening hours are a bit limited, mostly evenings and not every day, so you might have to plan around that.
  • It can get popular, so booking ahead is often needed, which might put a damper on spontaneous visits.

Visiting the swan theatre in the area and this is Great little quirky pub to stop off at and is 5-10 walk away. In this pub it's got a Good range of unusual beers and nice tasting too. Food very good, we had chicken wings to start and smash burger as a main. Very nice I must say. Staff are really really nice and very friendly. I will be going back. As I personal preference I did find the starter a little heavy on my stomach before my main but that's just me. Maybe next time ill try something else. Nice place and well worth a visit

Great beer selection and friendly staff. Had the cheese toastie and tomato soup for lunch, blew me away. Was only in Worcester for an hour, glad I spent it here!

This is one of Worcesters hidden gems. We went on a Sunday afternoon for Sunday lunch and this place certainly is a must visit. You do need to book as only open a few days a week and is highly popular. We booked a few weeks in advance and know at the date of posting this in November because of Christmas they are booked until January. This has several items on the menu but the food is superb as is the service. One of our party had the roast beef, one had the roast pork and two had the nut loaf. The whole meals were brilliant, all came with huge Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, parsnips and carrots. A separate dish of cabbage and we also had a side dish of broccoli cheese that was enough for the four of us. We didn't have room for dessert but we did see some and looked outstanding. If you want somewhere different we can certainly recommend a visit here. No car parking on site but we parked Hive car park and it was a 5 minute walk to the entrance.

Probably the best Sunday lunch in the world. Fantastic old traditional pub, great selection of beers and wines at reasonable prices, but the highlight for us was the food. We had a beef and pork Sunday lunch and they were fabulous, won’t be going elsewhere on Sundays when we visit Worcester next. Big shout out to the great staff also, thanks for the blue wine bottle and candle 😉
