About This Pub

You know, when you step into the Homestead, it's got that real community feel – like you're just nipping in for a chat and a drink with friends. The staff are what make it special; they're so attentive and friendly, always ready with a smile and a helping hand, whether it's sorting out a meal or making sure everyone's comfortable. The food's a winner too – those homemade chips and hearty dishes come out quick and tasty, and at prices that make it easy on the wallet for a midweek catch-up or weekend unwind. Oh, and the beer garden's a lovely spot when the sun's out, adding that extra charm for al-fresco pints. But let's be honest, it's not without its quirks; the decor feels a bit worn and could use a spruce-up to feel more inviting, and the menu sticks to the basics, so if you're in the mood for something fancy, you might end up wanting more variety. Still, for a straightforward, good-value evening with great company, it's a solid pick that I'd happily recommend for anyone looking for a reliable local haunt.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant, always going above and beyond to make you feel right at home – it's like popping in to see old mates.
  • The food hits the spot with homemade chips and quick, piping-hot meals that leave you satisfied without breaking the bank.
  • Prices are spot on for a casual outing, making it a great choice for a relaxed night without spending a fortune.
  • They've got a lovely beer garden that's perfect for enjoying a pint outdoors when the weather plays ball.
  • There's a good buzz with events and offers that keep things lively and give you reasons to keep coming back.
Cons
  • The place could do with a bit of a refresh; it feels a tad outdated and might not wow you with its decor.
  • The menu is pretty straightforward – basic pub grub that's alright, but if you're after something more adventurous, it might fall short.
  • The bar setup is a bit quirky and split, which can feel confusing at first and might disrupt the flow of things.

Ive been going to homestead now for three years since the first time I've been there I've been made to feel welcome and always have a good time on the weekends. Dawn and banner and the team always go above and beyond for you and Andy's food is second to none. Highly recommend you pop in if your in the willenhall area 👌

I have no idea why we have never been here before service was excellent all of the staff are lovely, prices are amazing and their chips are proper homemade chips none of that oven muck you find in all the other pubs. Absolutely fantastic and we will be back again to have a game of pool and to relax in the beer garden.

Wonderful first time experience in this lovely quaint pub. Lisa made the meal extraordinary for us all with her service, we enjoyed our meals thoroughly and will definitely be back. She had a good laugh with my grandmother and took great care of us all. Thank you for a lovely lunch!!

The Homestead is in need of a bit of modernisation but it does well with what it and the location it's in (the no drugs warning sign as you walk in is the context here and this review is written within that context). The menu is basic pub food but ok and the bar has a weird thing where it's split between two rooms so the staff have to position themselves between the two rooms meaning that there's a bell you ring to get the attention of the bar stuff. It's kind of quirky but it works. I tried the scampi which was fine and what you'd expect in terms of standard, and the prices are reasonable. If the pub was modernised and the menu revitalised it could be a lot better but as it stands it's an ok pub serving the local community which is very much where it's focus is at.
