About This Pub
So, picture this: you're out for a drink with friends, and you stumble upon Highbury Library, this unassuming spot in Highbury that's become a favourite for its fantastic natural wines. I have to say, the team there really know how to make you feel at home – they're so approachable and full of insights about their organic and biodynamic selections, which is brilliant if you're into exploring something new. The atmosphere is just spot on, all chilled out and welcoming, with neat extras like QR codes that tell the story behind each bottle and even spinning vinyl for that extra touch of character. It's ideal for a low-key evening, whether you're catching up over a glass or trying something special. On the flip side, it's pretty wine-centric, so if you're not mad about wines or fancy a pint or a cocktail, you might feel it's a bit one-note. Plus, with doors shutting around 11 PM, it's not for those all-nighter types. All in all, though, it's a solid choice for a memorable, easy-going visit – I'd definitely recommend giving it a go if you're in the area and up for something a bit different.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The selection of natural, organic, and biodynamic wines is absolutely top-notch – it's like a treasure trove for anyone keen on exploring unique bottles.
-
The staff are incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, always ready with a great recommendation or a story about the wine, making every visit feel personal and fun.
-
The atmosphere is super chilled and neighbourhood-friendly, perfect for a relaxed catch-up with mates, a date, or even a solo unwind without it getting too hectic.
-
Little touches like the QR codes on bottles and the option to select vinyl records add a lovely, engaging twist that makes the place stand out.
-
It's got a great vibe for wine lovers, with events and a shop feel that make it easy to dive into the world of natural wines.
Cons
-
The focus is heavily on wines, so if you're after a broader range of drinks like spirits or cocktails, you might find the options a bit limited.
-
Closing times are fairly early, typically around 11 PM, which could cut short an evening if you're hoping for a late-night spot.
-
Being quite niche with its natural wine emphasis, it might not appeal to everyone – if you're not into that scene, it could feel a tad exclusive.
-
The location in Highbury is lovely for locals, but it might not be the easiest to get to if you're coming from further afield in London.

layla was a delight. thanks so much for making our visit such a welcome
My favorite bar in London ♥️
If you're looking for a cool but not overcrowded place to go with friends, family or to have a date, then this is the perfect spot!
They have a huuuuuuuge and a very high quality variety of wines and beers. And guess what? They have pisco sour ♥️♥️♥️!
If you don't drink alcohol, they also offer good mocktails and non alcoholic beers.
The staff is very attentive, kind and fun 😊.
Highbury Library also offer quiz nights, wine tastings and a book club.
I highly recommend you to visit Highbury Library! You won't regret it 🌻
We love coming here. The atmosphere is chilled and the staff is really welcoming and knowledgeable. It’s a great place if you are looking to buy natural wines as they have a QR code system on each bottle that gives you the story of that particular wine. It’s mostly a natural wine bar so you can get bottles or glasses of natural wines to enjoy with one of their dishes. They do not have a huge variety of bottles to take away but you can tell that they really did their research on the wines that they are selling. We found what we were looking for and we couldn’t be happier! Highly recommended if you are in Arsenal and want to enjoy a great glass of natural wine ♥️
Best little drinking spot hidden amongst the local community, Located in the heart of Drayton Park Road, this is the cutest neighbourhood bar with a difference. The perfect haunt for those wanting to get into the party spirit or a sophisticated early evening drink while the sunsets across the street directly above Aresonal stadium. Thanks guys, was awesome! Pooch friendly too, what more could you want. 👏
A bar where you can select vinyl to be spun for you? YES PLEASE!
We happened across this lovely bar while waiting for our table at Westerns Laundry (also fab by the way). We were happy to find out that Thursday's were 2 for £12 cocktail night. The vibe was super chill and welcoming and if we lived in the area we'd be here all the time. We guzzled up our delicious beverages while a nice breeze flowed in from the garden. We played dominoes, picked from an assortment of games and had a little jam session to tunes from a Tribe called quest. I would love for locals to populate this place, it was a bit quiet for a Thursday night which was bizarre because it's brilliant. The hubz and I can't wait to visit again.
