About This Pub

Ah, The Lamb – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local hideaway, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews and the lowdown on the place, it's got this fantastic array of local beers on tap, with 12 keg lines and 3 cask ones, so if you're into exploring new brews, you're in for a treat. The interior is just lovely, all wood panelling and skylights that give it a cosy, old-school charm, and the staff come across as really approachable, making you feel welcome from the moment you step in. Events like the Irish music sessions or ukulele nights add a brilliant buzz, fostering that sense of community where everyone joins in. It's no wonder it's racking up high ratings, with folks praising the authentic atmosphere and friendly faces. On the flip side, it opens a bit late in the day, which could be a downside if you're keen for an earlier tipple, and it does get packed during big events or match days, so you might end up jostling for space. Plus, if you're after a more refined setting or fancy watching the game on a screen, it might not quite hit the mark – it's more about chatting and enjoying the music here. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening out, especially if you're in the Holloway area, and I'd say it's worth popping in for the experience, good and bad alike.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The beer selection is absolutely top-notch, with a fantastic range of local brews from breweries like Five Points and Howling Hops – it's a real treat for anyone who loves a good pint.
  • The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with beautiful wood panelling, skylights, and original features that make you feel right at home, plus it's got that lovely community vibe.
  • Live music events are a highlight, like the traditional Irish sessions on Tuesdays or the ukulele meets, which add a fun, lively touch without overwhelming the space.
  • The staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming, always ready with a smile and a chat, making every visit feel personal and enjoyable.
  • It's a great spot for match days at the Emirates or just meeting up with mates, and being featured in beer guides shows it's a proper gem in the area.
Cons
  • It doesn't open until 4 PM most days, which might be a bit late if you're after a midday drink or lunch.
  • The place can get quite busy during events or on match days, so you might struggle to find a seat or enjoy a quiet chat.
  • Some might find the quirky, eclectic decor a tad reminiscent of a student hangout, which isn't everyone's cup of tea if you're after something more polished.
  • With no TV around, it's not the best for catching the footie if that's your thing – more focused on music and conversation instead.

Authentic live music thats the best you can get. Also interior that has so much appeal and atmosphere with living candles and a pleasant staff was such a joy to visit.

The best pub in Holloway if you like great staff, good beers, no tv and a great sense of community. Everyone (old or young) is very friendly. On Mondays they have e a ukulele meet, Tuesdays and amazing Irish band, Thursdays Dave the keys I. The piano for a sing a long and Sundays another meeting of folk musicians. No food but you can order from any place nearby or bring food in. Dogs are very welcome too.

What a great authentic pub. Very good selection of beer and I immediately felt good here. Had to buy one of their merch-shirts, too. That proves that it was great

Quirky pub. Stopped by with a buddy while visiting the area. It reminded me of my university students union more than anything else. Has a whole bunch of different areas to sit at. Eclectic items around the pub. Likely fun in the evenings as it looks like it hosts events for the locals - had a band or performance area near the front.
