About This Pub

Ah, Harvester Gravesend – it's one of those places that just feels like a reliable old friend when you're after a solid meal out. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food really hits the spot with those generous portions of grilled favourites, rotisserie chicken, and that endless salad bar that keeps everyone coming back for more. It's clear the team puts in the effort to make things welcoming, especially for families, with a kids' menu and options for all dietary needs, and the recent spruce-up has left it feeling fresh and inviting. Service-wise, stories about servers like Shelley are glowing – she's all about that personal touch, making sure kids are happy and meals run smoothly, even when the place is buzzing. On the flip side, it does tend to get packed, so you might find yourself waiting a bit longer than you'd like, and there's a hint of confusion with the operating details that could catch you out if you're not checking ahead. All in all, it's a cracking choice for a casual get-together, offering good value and a homely atmosphere, but just keep in mind those busier moments to plan your visit just right. If you're in the Gravesend area, I'd say give it a go – it's got that balance of fun and reliability that makes for a memorable night out.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The service is absolutely top-notch, with staff like Shelley going above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and looked after – it's like chatting with a friendly mate who knows just what you need.
  • The food is a real winner, offering hearty portions of classics like rotisserie chicken, grilled dishes, and that famous unlimited salad bar, plus plenty of options for kids, veggies, and vegans to keep the whole group happy.
  • It's a proper family-friendly spot with a warm, welcoming vibe, especially after their recent refit, making it ideal for relaxed meals out, whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
  • With moderate prices and deals like vouchers, it's great value for money, and being easy to reach near the A226, it's perfect for a quick stop after exploring local spots like Shorne Woods.
Cons
  • It can get pretty busy, especially on evenings or weekends, which might mean a bit of a wait for your table or service, even if the team is doing their best to keep up.
  • The operating status seems a tad unclear from what I've seen, with some info suggesting it might be closed at times, so it's worth double-checking the hours to avoid any disappointment when you're planning a visit.

We had Shelley as a server and she was amazing. Really friendly and good with the children. Food was good too…good portions…so much I had to box some and take home. Haven’t been here for a while, but it’s had a refit and is clean and welcoming. Thanks Shelley and team for our excellent meal out!!!

Had a 40% off mains voucher. Food was spot on and our waitress was Shelley and she was fantastic. We've been served by her before and always like her. Great food, great service and great price. Even though the restaurant was heaving they still had everything.

Our server was Shelly she was lovely and welcoming. Food was very nice all piping hot. She was very pleasant and patient as our kids are a little fussy. It was a busy night for a Thursday and could see she was under pressure with all her tables but still managed to cater to everyone making sure they were enjoying themselves and the food was up to a good standard. Hopefully we have her as a waitress again when we return. Many thanks

Popped in for a quick bite on a Thursday evening and Shelley was quick to seat us and take our order. Great service and such a lovely lady. Really enjoyed our evening.

This was the first time I'd visited since pre covid and I was really impressed. We were greeted at the door, showed to our table and offered an alternative spot when it wasn't quite ready. The waitress made sure we were completely happy. It was really busy but we were served in a timely manner with the food piping hot and well presented. Our waitress knew what was going on in her section and made sure everyone was taken good care of. We never had to wait long but at the same time we were never rushed. The area was clean and fresh throughout. I was glad we booked in advance as it was so busy, so easy to do on the ap. I didn't know they did take away and will definately give that a go at some point. The only reason I dropped a star is because several of the tubs at the salad bar were empty and didn't seem to be refilled that quickly. In their defense someone did wander out to check the area but they didn't seem that quick in replacing the empty containers. The area was kept lovely and tidy though considering the amount of children that were in there having a good time.
