About This Pub
Ah, let me tell you about the Harrogate Tap – it's one of those places that just feels like a proper treat when you step inside. I love how they've got this amazing array of beers from around the globe, poured from handpulls and kegs, so whether you're in the mood for a classic ale or something more adventurous, you're sorted. Being tucked away in the old train station gives it such a unique, nostalgic feel, with cosy corners and even a fire going on chillier days – it's just the ticket for relaxing after a wander around town. The staff are generally spot on, full of passion for what they do and happy to recommend a brew, but I've got to be honest, there was that one mention of a less-than-cheery server who didn't quite live up to the hype, which could leave you feeling a bit deflated if you're unlucky. Still, with such high marks from folks who've been there, and the convenience of being right by the station, it's well worth seeking out for a laid-back evening. All in all, it's a solid choice for us pub lovers, as long as you go in with an open mind and maybe keep an eye on the service side of things.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The beer selection is absolutely brilliant, with a massive range from traditional ales to modern brews from all over the world – perfect for exploring new favourites.
-
It's in such a handy spot right at Harrogate Station, making it dead easy to pop in after a train journey or a day out.
-
The historic setting in the old train station building is charming as anything, with wood panelling and a cosy atmosphere that really adds to the vibe.
-
Most of the staff are really friendly and knowledgeable, always up for a chat about the drinks and making you feel welcome.
-
There's a great mix of spaces, from the lively main bar to quieter nooks, plus options for sitting outside in the sunshine.
Cons
-
Service can sometimes fall flat, like when one person mentioned a bartender who seemed a bit sullen and disinterested, which puts a damper on things.
-
A few drinks might not always hit the mark, such as some ciders being less than fizzy, so it's worth double-checking your order.

Enjoyed a drink here in the sunshine after jumping off a bus in Harrogate.
Beautiful setting and really friendly service.
Plenty of choice on tap to satisfy any taste
Really enjoyed it here!
First time at this pub, good selection of beers and 4 ciders (3 flat). Quite a big pub and handily located right next to Harrogate Railway station.
Great location, great atmosphere, and decent ale selection. The fire was very lovely.
The little bartender, though, was a joyless little nugget. Sullen, disinterested, and curt.
Otherwise, great little pub.
Fantastic range of beers, ales, lagers etc. Super conveniently located at the railway station.
Space to sit outside if you want to, but the inside is a gloriously old school wood panelled and tiled floors joy. Plenty of friendly staff!
A great location with windows looking over the train station platforms. With the fire roaring and a great selection of bitters and ales, a nice place for a pint. We went on a Sunday night and a good turn over of drinkers. The old ceiling mounted clock took me back a few years, bar staff very helpful and friendly. Another pub to add to my growing list.
