About This Pub
Ah, the Green Dragon – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, tucked away in Market Place. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this warm, inviting atmosphere that's spot on for a casual get-together or a quiet drink. The food stands out as a real highlight; one reviewer was over the moon about the ribs, saying they're fresh, fantastic, and make the trip worthwhile, while others couldn't fault the meals or the service – it's all about that freshly cooked goodness and attentive staff who make you feel right at home. The decor adds to the charm too, with traditional ornaments and bespoke outdoor benches that give it a historic feel, making it a nice spot to settle in. On the flip side, though, there's that one recent review that was a bit lukewarm; they enjoyed the pub but didn't try the food, so it makes you wonder if it's consistently top-notch. Plus, the operating hours look a bit messy with conflicting Sunday slots, and without a website, it's not straightforward to plan a visit or check what's on offer. Overall, it's got a stellar 4.8 rating, which speaks volumes, but I'd say it's worth going in with an open mind – the good far outweighs the bad, and it's just the sort of place you'd chat about over a pint with friends.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food here is an absolute treat – especially those ribs, which one chap raved about as the best he's had in ages, making it well worth a visit.
-
It's got a really welcoming and friendly atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed night out with mates or just popping in for a pint.
-
The decor and ambience are spot on, with traditional historic touches and unique outdoor seating that adds a lovely charm to the place.
Cons
-
There was a recent review that was a bit underwhelming, giving it just three stars, so it might not hit the mark every time.
-
The opening hours seem a tad confusing with multiple listings, which could leave you scratching your head about when to drop by.
-
Without a website or online presence, it's not the easiest to get more details like the menu or to check for any updates before heading out.

What a great night, was taken by a friend of mine for a night out, and it was a great atmosphere and fantastic food. All freshly cooked and homemade pizza was fantastic. Home-made chunky chips were lovely. Will definitely return soon.

Really liked the decor and ambience here. It had traditional and historic touches throughout with different ornaments on display. I particularly liked the bespoke benches in the outside seating area, which had green dragons incorporated onto them.
