About This Pub
Ah, the Fox & Pheasant, what a gem tucked away in the historic village of Stoke Poges near Slough. I've got to say, it's one of those places that just hits the spot for a laid-back evening out. The food is spot on – think well-cooked dishes with heaps of flavour, like those beef and ale croquettes or a hearty fish pie, and it's all reasonably priced for what you get. The staff really make it shine; they're so welcoming and eager to help, which makes you feel right at home, especially if you're popping in with the family or even the dog. That waterside location adds a nice touch, with the beer garden being a brilliant spot on a sunny day to enjoy a cold drink and soak up the atmosphere. On the flip side, it's not perfect – I've heard of a few instances where service hit a snag, like one chap who had to chase things up but ended up with a positive turnaround. And if you go on a busy night, like their quiz evenings, you might find yourself waiting a tad longer than you'd like. All in all, though, it's a solid choice for us lot who fancy a good pub crawl or a catch-up over some grub; just keep an eye on the timing to avoid the crowds, and you'll have a cracking time.

Lovely evening spend here, went with all the family, we have a great time. The food was fantastic, well cooked and exceptionally well served! Special THANK YOU to Jess for taking such great care of us!
Edit 4 June - I was contacted after my review by Gee, who explained about issues and kindly offered me a voucher to try them again. Today, I went at lunchtime, and it was much better. We had nicely cooked fish and chips, and apple blackberry crumble pie, and the service from a very enthusiastic young waiter was faultless. So thank you Gee for responding and caring, it's much appreciated.
Original review:-
Went to Fawlty Towers dinner. The show was very good. The dinner was not. We'd been asked to send in our menu options a few days earlier, the event started at 7. We didn't get our 1st course till about 8.40. Chicken strips, were OK. Another long wait before the main course. My friend and I had each ordered the lasagne - his was dry and hard and he thought it had been reheated several times. Mine was edible, but it would have been nice to have some salad. Puds were OK, my hubby not impressed with the brownie. So, with 3 days warning, and having everyone seated by 7 (and it was only about 6 tables!), why did it take so long for that food to come? I've added a couple of photos of the 2 lasagnes....
My wife and I took our little one year old son here today ( sat 14th December) for their breakfast with Santa.
We had an enjoyable time. All the staff were lovely especially Carolyn who served us. And the food was lovely and hot.
Will definitely come back.
We had a Friday evening meal at the Fox & Pheasant, staff were welcoming and friendly. The restaurant / pub had a lovely relaxed atmosphere and service was prompt. The food was delicious and good sized portions. Recommend the 8oz steak for mains and banana waffles with ice cream for dessert. Had a lovely meal and will certainly be visiting again soon.
Great place for food. Very friendly. Large outside space & plenty of tables inside too. Service was very good & not too slow even though we were there on the regular Tuesday quiz night. The food was well cooked, flavoursome & reasonably priced. We had prawn cocktail, squid, chilli chicken thighs & hunters chicken - there was no room left for dessert! The food arrived & I forgot to take pictures of the starters 🙃
Return visit for a quick meal before the cinema - equally as good as the 1st visit!
