About This Pub
Ah, the Four Mile Inn – it's one of those reliable spots in Bucksburn that you end up returning to for its warm, community feel and friendly service that always puts a smile on your face. I've heard from folks who've popped in that the staff go above and beyond, like sorting out last-minute orders or making sure your dog's looked after, which really adds to the charm. It's brilliant for catching live events, especially with the Women's Euros buzzing about, and the beer garden is a lovely spot for a pint when the weather's on your side. Prices are fair, so you won't break the bank, and extras like WiFi and a car park make it dead handy. On the flip side, though, the food's a mixed bag – some rave about the fish and chips, but others have had mishaps with burnt veggies or tough pies, so maybe stick to the safer choices if you're ordering. There can be a bit of a queue for tables, and it might feel a smidge unwelcoming if it's cold inside, but overall, it's a solid choice for a laid-back evening. If you're in Aberdeen and fancy a pint without the fuss, give it a go – just keep expectations realistic for the grub!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely lovely and really welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
It's a fantastic spot for watching live sports, with Sky and TNT Sports on offer, so you can catch all the big games in a lively atmosphere.
-
Being dog-friendly is a real winner – they even provide water bowls for your furry mates, perfect for a relaxed outing.
-
Prices are spot on for a good night out; it's inexpensive without skimping on the basics, and there's a nice beer garden to enjoy on nicer days.
-
Plenty of handy facilities like WiFi, a car park, and takeaway options make it convenient for popping in after a long day.
Cons
-
Food can be a bit inconsistent; some dishes like the steak and ale pie might come out overcooked or disappointing, though the fried stuff like fish and chips is usually spot on.
-
There might be a wait for tables, especially if it's busy with reservations, which can put a dampener on spontaneous visits.
-
The place can feel a tad chilly or not quite as comfortable as you'd hope, so it's worth checking the temperature if you're sensitive to that.
-
It's part of a chain, so it doesn't always stand out as the best in the area, with a few reviewers noting it's just 'okay' compared to others.

Recent Reviews
Nice staff but the microwave was having a bad day with crunchy steak and ale pie / burnt broccoli. The fried food was much better so go for the fish and chips!
I had already given a 5 star review, but without text and I still wanted to do this so:
At the beginning of November my girlfriend and I were in Aberdeen for a week for a Strongman comp and we visited this restaurant and cafe several times. We enjoyed a delicious steak twice. On the evening (Saturday) after the comp we celebrated with a large group of friends at the Four Mile, enjoying a drink.
The staff is very friendly and flexible with wishes. The group consisted of different nationalities and we were welcomed by the local guests with a smile, pint and storys. Everyone sang and danced together. We will definitely be back this year.
We stopped here for lunch. There were many tables reserved which was fine but we had a bit of a wait. The food was ok but not the best from the Green king franchise in the city. I was a little bit cold and it wasn't the most comfortable.
We arrived after a long day of travelling and we have just picked up supplies and we popped in for a bite to eat it was close to the closing of the kitchen but Heather was super helpful called the kitchen and was happy to take our food order. After we had eaten we asked if we could get dessert and once again so helpful even though Kitchen was closed Andrew the chef kindly agree to prepare our desserts fantastic service and super accommodating.
Food was amazing and best of all dog friendly. Brought a water bowl for my dogs. Service was great. Ended up going on both days for dinner and lunch!!
