About This Pub
Ah, Founder's Hall – it's one of those places that really captures the spirit of Manchester, tucked away near the historic Town Hall, and I reckon it's a gem for anyone who appreciates a fine pint and a solid meal. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the beer selection is where it truly shines, with a vast array of ales and craft options that pair beautifully with their menu of pub classics; think juicy roasts with unlimited gravy or those hand-pressed pies that have left many chuffed. The staff seem to go the extra mile, being super helpful and creating that warm, welcoming vibe that's perfect for meeting mates or enjoying a date night. On the flip side, it's not all perfect – a couple of reviews pointed out that some dishes can fall flat, like underwhelming burgers or pies that didn't quite deliver on flavour, so it might be worth sticking to their stronger suits. Overall, though, with a solid 4.2 rating, it's a place I'd happily recommend for a relaxed outing, just keep in mind it could get lively, and maybe save room for those standout beers to make the most of your visit.

It's in a brilliant location on Albert Square, perfect for soaking up the historic vibes of Manchester city centre, and great for groups or a relaxed catch-up.

Cons
-
Some dishes can be a bit hit or miss; a few have mentioned the food lacking in flavour, like the steak pie and burgers not living up to expectations.
-
It might get busy, especially in the evenings or on weekends, which could mean waits for tables or service, though that's common in popular spots.

Couple of pints then some nosebag with my mate Tommy, Steak & Ale pie for me and a Bratwurst for him. Staff very good and attentive, food great. Thanks 👍🏼
Had a wonderful Roast Dinner the other week, very flavourful, roasties nice and soft (not dried out as it is so often the case), great ratio of meat and veg, and unlimited yummy gravy. Been to many places for a roast around Manchester, and this one's up there, so good. Burgers were very much enjoyed in our party too!
Staff were really sound and attentive.
Great spot in Albert Square, decent pub grub/bar snacks and a good atmosphere. Service was really fast and friendly.
Great pub! I had a working lunch here on a Friday.
The fish and chips was tasty, a nice light batter. Good quality fish.
Highly recommend the MPA ale and I also had a taste of the Christmassy plum beer. Again very tasty.
Great place If you like your ale.
Service was friendly throughout. Was asked how my meal was mid meal which was good. Collected the plates too when we had finished.
Pub has a good atmosphere, good for groups or just for a night out. The decor is comfy and stylish. They had a refurb last year.
Awesome pub. Will definitely go back.
Truly a great beer selection. Enjoyed a large flight with really interesting beers. The staff were great! So friendly and helpful.
However, the food was at max a 3.5/10. We ordered the steak pie and the burger. Both dishes should be solid slam dunks for a pub, but both were flavorless and poor quality.
The pie was made with a rather sweet pastry and was essentially just stewed meat in a shop bought gravy. Not at all as lovely as advertised. The burger sounded amazing but was actually so flavorless I couldn’t understand it.
The chips and fries were perfect though.
