About This Pub

Ah, Flanagan's Apple – it's one of those places in Liverpool that just feels like a proper Irish pub, you know? From what I've gathered chatting about it with folks, the staff really stand out; they're so attentive and cheerful, making every visit feel like you're catching up with old mates. The food's a highlight too – think delicious breakfasts and brunches that hit the spot, especially if you're in for a hearty meal with a pint of Guinness to wash it down. The vibe is spot on for watching the match or having a laugh over drinks, and it's all at a fair price, so you won't feel short-changed. On the flip side, though, the beer choices are a bit on the basic side, mostly lagers, and the cocktails don't quite live up to the hype – might leave you wanting more options if you're feeling adventurous. Plus, there've been a couple of mentions about food not always being perfect, like missing bits on plates or tweaks needed for that true Irish touch. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed get-together, but if you're picky about your drinks or want everything flawless, it might not be the ultimate winner. Still, I'd say it's worth a visit for the good times it delivers.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always going the extra mile to make you feel right at home.
  • They've got some cracking food options, like the hearty Irish breakfast and bottomless brunch, which are spot on for a proper feed.
  • The atmosphere is buzzing, especially with live sport on the telly and plenty of laughs to be had – it's a great spot for catching up with friends.
  • It's in a prime location in Liverpool city centre, easy to pop into after exploring the area.
  • Overall, it's excellent value, with affordable drinks and meals that leave you satisfied without breaking the bank.
Cons
  • The beer selection is a bit limited, mostly lagers on tap, so if you're after something more varied, you might be disappointed.
  • Cocktails aren't anything to write home about – they could do with spicing up the menu a tad.
  • There have been a few niggles with food, like items missing from dishes or suggestions that the Irish breakfast could be more authentic.
  • It can get a bit quiet at times, which might not suit everyone looking for a lively vibe every visit.

Absolutely fantastic experience. The staff can’t do enough for you and I’d absolutely recommend the bottomless brunch. We have had an afternoon full of plenty of drinks and laughs, would definitely be back.

Ate twice here and was really impressed with food and the atmosphere. What made the visit more impressive was the absolute top notch service from Ann. She was a great tonic and what made it better is she was a Bruce Springsteen fan!! Great Service

Popped in for breakfast and was served by Anne and also Jack. Very friendly and welcoming, great pint of Guinness and we had the Hearty Irish Breakfast, which was cooked perfectly. Only suggestion in my opinion would be to serve potato bread instead of hash browns with the 'Irish' breakfast, but not an issue. Would recommend!

Might be an awesome place for party, but get your food elsewhere. Poor choice of beers on tap (mostly lagers), and not too interesting cocktails either. My friend got the last fish&chips (but was served without peas), so none for me. Really didn't fancy anything else on the menu so went for 3 small dishes for a set price. They were so-so...

Very cozy place and not crazy busy even on game day. We enjoyed the meal and the beer a lot.
