About This Pub

You know, I've got to say, chatting about Fishers really brings a smile to my face; it's one of those places that just nails the basics while adding a touch of something special. The seafood here is fresh as can be, with inventive sides that make every bite exciting – think succulent scallops or a standout soft shell crab burger that had me going back for more. The team behind the bar and kitchen are an absolute delight, always chatting away and making sure everything's just right, which adds to that comfy, laid-back vibe that's perfect for catching up with friends over a meal. On the flip side, if seafood isn't your thing, you might find the menu a tad restrictive, and it does get buzzing on busier nights, so planning ahead is a good idea. All in all, it's a solid choice for a night out in Edinburgh; I'd definitely recommend giving it a go if you're in the mood for quality grub without breaking the bank, but keep in mind that spot might not suit everyone, especially if you're after something more central or varied.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely top-notch, with fresh, high-quality seafood that's prepared imaginatively and full of flavour – perfect if you're a fan of fish like me!
  • The staff are wonderfully friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • It's a comfortable and relaxed spot, ideal for a casual meal or something a bit special, and they've got a great atmosphere that keeps things cosy.
  • With reasonable prices and a fantastic wine list, it's brilliant value for money, especially for a treat in Edinburgh.
  • They're open all day, every day, so it's easy to pop in whenever suits, and the location in Leith is handy if you're exploring the area.
Cons
  • As it's primarily a seafood restaurant, options might be limited if you're not keen on fish or prefer vegetarian dishes.
  • It can get quite busy, especially in the evenings, so you might have to wait for a table or book ahead to avoid disappointment.
  • Being a bit out of the city centre in Leith, it could take a short journey to get there, which isn't ideal if you're staying in the heart of Edinburgh.

Great little seafood restaurant in the Port of Leith. Really friendly waitresses, very professional. Food was fantastic we had the smoked salmon pate, queen scallops for starters, followed by sweet potato curry with Coley and the soft shell crab burger..both were excellent but thd curry stole the show. For pudding I had the pavlova...the meringue was just right. Overall a great meal at reasonable price. Would definitely go back when we return to Edinburgh.

What an amazing restaurant! We arrived about an hour before closing, and we were greeted so warmly, after they had just finished up their dinner rush. They checked to ensure there was enough availability of food in order to seat us, which there was and we sat down to the most incredible seafood dinner we have ever had! Scallops on the half shell and fishcakes were the appetizers we chose, which were both cooked PERFECTLY and the flavours were amazing. Next we had the sea bass and the soft shell crab burger- when I say both of these items were cooked perfectly, it doesn’t even describe how beautifully done they were. The fish was so tender and flavourful, not the least bit dry or overcooked, and the soft shell crab was so tender, plus the tempura batter added the perfect crunch. We finished our meal with a sticky toffee pudding that was absolutely to die for- I used my spoon to eat all the remaining sauce. Thank you so much for the hospitality, amazing service and delicious food! Next time we are in Edinburgh, we will be back!

What a wonderful place to eat. Service was amazing and the food sublime. Fresh oysters were some of the best I’ve had (and I’ve had a few!). If you are looking for a special place to eat, at reasonable prices, then this is the place for you. Oh, and the wine list is also fantastic!! Please leave an honest review once you’ve visited, places like this need all the love we have to give them. I’ll be back there as soon as I can,
