About This Pub
Ah, the Fighting Cocks – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper community hub, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, folks absolutely love the friendly staff who go out of their way to make your visit enjoyable, whether you're there for a quick coffee or a full evening. The atmosphere is spot on for a casual get-together; imagine sinking a pint while challenging your mates to a game of pool or darts – it's all there and adds a real fun element. With a solid 4.3 rating, it's clear most people have a great time, praising the clean bar and straightforward good beer. But let's be honest, it's not without its flaws – a few reviewers mentioned it could use a refresh to modernise things a bit, and as a local spot, it doesn't pretend to be anything more than that. If you're in Rugby and fancy a laid-back night without the frills, it's worth checking out, though you might want to confirm those opening times first since the details are a bit muddled. Overall, it's a gem for what it is, offering that genuine pub experience we all cherish.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and always up for a chat, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
It's got a brilliant atmosphere for a relaxed night out, perfect for catching up with mates over a pint.
-
They've got fun games like pool, darts, and skittles, which add a great bit of entertainment and keep things lively.
-
The bar is nice and clean, and they serve up a solid pint of beer – nothing fancy, but reliably good.
-
It's a welcoming spot for small social gatherings, especially on weekends, where you can have a laugh and unwind.
Cons
-
It could do with a bit of updating; the place feels a tad outdated in spots, though it doesn't spoil the fun.
-
It's more of a local neighbourhood boozer rather than a must-visit destination, so it might not wow you if you're after something more polished.
-
With no website or online presence, it's a bit tricky to get the latest info on what's on or opening times without popping by.
-
The operating hours seem a touch inconsistent from what's listed, which might catch you out if you're planning a visit.

Excellent pub. Great for a small social gathering especially on the weekends. Staff are great and never fail to give a joke to leave you left laughing
Friendly down to earth local pub. Nothing fancy - but doesn't try to be. Not really a Destination - but friendly and welcoming. Could to with updating but at the end of day, serves a good beer and maybe a sausage roll.
