About This Pub
Ah, The Green Man in Dunchurch is one of those trusty pubs that feels like a proper local haunt, you know? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff are real stars – always up for a chat and making sure you're looked after, which really adds to the homely feel. The food's a highlight too; they've got cracking options like creamy chicken pie and burgers that hit the spot, all prepared fresh and sourced locally, which is just what you want for a satisfying meal without breaking the bank. With a solid 4.3 rating, it's clear a lot of folks enjoy popping in for a pint and some grub, especially for family get-togethers or a laid-back evening. On the flip side, it's not without its quirks – the place does look a bit tired in spots, and there've been mentions of the odd meal not quite living up to the hype, like a cold pie that needed sending back. Still, it's got that authentic pub charm, and for anyone in Rugby fancying a no-fuss night out, I'd say it's worth a go, as long as you keep expectations realistic for a traditional spot like this.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely lovely and make you feel right at home with their warm and attentive service.
-
They serve up some brilliant pub classics, like hearty cottage pie and top-notch Sunday roasts, all made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
-
The beers are spot on, and it's a real favourite among locals for a relaxed vibe and good grub.
-
It's a great spot for family gatherings or a casual catch-up, with a welcoming atmosphere that keeps people coming back.
Cons
-
The place looks a bit worn out and could do with a spruce-up to freshen things up.
-
There have been a few hitches with the food, like dishes not being hot enough or some items falling short of expectations.
-
It might not stand out as overly fancy, so if you're after something ultra-modern, it could feel a tad dated.

Place looks a bit tired. Staff very friendly. Beers ok. Popular with locals.
Great food, service. Lovely staff and a fabulous night
We held a family gathering here the other evening and were very impressed with the staff, food and venue. Would recommend. :)
I really liked this pub on previous visits but the food this time was below the usual standard. The chicken pie had to be sent back as it was still cold inside all though the dish and the pastry was extremely hot. The replacement was so hot the gravy was bubbling. The rice on another dish was hard and in lumps. Obviously over cooked. The manager was very good about it and gave a discount on the full meal. I would say it was not the usual chef. Going again in a few weeks so watch this space.
Honestly one of the best Sunday Roasts going around Rugby to date! Partners burger was amazing too! It's been a good handful of years since I last went here but definitely going to be back!
