About This Pub

You know, when I think about The Crow Pie, it's got this lovely, unpretentious feel that makes it a real gem for us pub enthusiasts in Rugby. The staff are absolute stars, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly, and there's that comforting, cosy charm that harks back to traditional locals while still feeling fresh. If you're a sports lover, you'll be chuffed with the big screen and dart boards – it's brilliant for catching the match with a pint in hand. Plus, the garden's a nice touch for sunnier days, and it's welcoming for families too, which adds to its community spirit. On the downside, though, one of the rooms comes across as a tad bright and clinical, which might not sit well if you're after that dimly lit, intimate pub vibe. I've heard a few stories about service not always being top-notch, like with some abrupt interactions, so it's worth keeping in mind if you're planning a relaxed evening. All in all, it's a solid spot for a good time with friends, but it might not be everyone's cup of tea for a peaceful night out – still, I'd say give it a go and see what you think!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are really friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • It's got that cosy, traditional pub charm that's been modernised just enough without losing its local character.
  • Perfect spot for sports fans with a big screen and dart boards – ideal for watching the game with mates.
  • A great community vibe, serving as a key gathering point for locals, with decent, straightforward beers on offer.
  • Kid-friendly with a nice garden area, so it's versatile for families or a casual afternoon out.
Cons
  • One of the rooms can feel a bit bright and sterile, which might not give off the warm, snug pub atmosphere you'd hope for.
  • There have been reports of rude service in the past, like with ID checks, which could put a dampener on your visit.
  • It's not the best place if you're after a quiet chat, as it can get lively and focused on sports rather than relaxed conversation.

Popped in for a quick pint on a Saturday afternoon. It was my local about 35 years ago. It still has two rooms, lounge and bar style. It modernised, but still retains it's local pub cosy charm. The bar staff were very nice and friendly. It has a big screen for sports in the lounge, with dart boards. I didn't go in the bar side. It used to have skittles, pool, jukebox etc Prices were good too. Will be back at Christmas 👍🏻

Not sure I like the front room? It's a bit bright and a bit sterile feeling for a pub.

Its great that this place exist as it seems to be an important gathering point for some of the locals in the area and the next pub is like a mile away at least. Don’t expect some special fancy establishment, but embrace the charm in the ordinary. Friendly service and some decent cookie cutter beers on tap is all you need to have a good time. Also fell in love with the bar kitten 🐈‍⬛

Would probably get a better service in a public restroom than this establishment. One of the owners approached my party and asked them to leave unless we could prove we had ID and was thoroughly rude about it all. However, we have the ID and were allowed to stay, we chose to leave as we were treated very poorly. You couldn't pay me to visit again, Lidl probably has a better homely feeling than this pub did, and it'd be cheaper too.

Friendly people, brilliant place if you like sky sports, kiddy friendly with a nice garden. They say they plan to do food in the future, but not yet. Not really a place to have a quiet drink and a chat.
