About This Pub
Ah, Evenwood Farm – it's one of those pubs that really hits the spot for a laid-back meal with mates or the family. From the reviews I've had a look at, the food stands out as a winner; think juicy roasts, crispy potatoes, and those massive, moist cakes that folks rave about – it's all fresh and well-prepared, leaving you feeling properly satisfied. The place itself is spacious and comfortable, with plenty of thoughtful touches like an indoor play area and easy parking, making it ideal if you're out with little ones or just want a hassle-free spot to catch up. On the upside, when the staff are on their game, they're helpful and create a friendly buzz. But, let's be honest, it's not all perfect – you might find yourself waiting a bit for service, even on quieter days, and the beer choices are a bit limited, which could disappoint if you're after a wider selection. Still, with a solid 4.1 rating overall, it's worth swinging by for the grub and atmosphere, just go in with realistic expectations and you'll likely have a great time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on – fresh roasts, scrumptious cakes, and a carvery that's full of choice and always hot, making it a real treat for a hearty meal.
-
It's a spacious and comfortable spot, perfect for unwinding with friends or family, with a welcoming atmosphere that feels just right for a relaxed chat.
-
Loads of family-friendly features like an indoor play area, disabled facilities, and handy perks such as WiFi, EV charging, and a car park, which make it easy to pop in.
-
The staff can be really helpful and pleasant when they're on form, adding a nice touch to your visit and making you feel looked after.
Cons
-
Service can be a bit inconsistent; you might end up waiting around for someone to greet you or take your order, even if it's not too busy.
-
The beer selection is on the slim side, with only a few options on draft, which could leave you wanting more variety if you're a fan of a good pint.
-
Occasionally, things feel a tad slow, like delays at the bar, which might put a dampener on things if you're hoping for a quick stop.

called in today to pick up a take away roast. credit where credit is due the roast was the best I have ever had from here. everything was on point, veg, roasties, gravy. The meat was amazing. thoroughly enjoyed it 👌 and added bonus at about 2pm there was no queue either 😀
First time here today. What a beautiful pub, so spacious and comfortable. Food was absolutely fresh and well prepared. The massive cakes are moist and scrumptious. Loved it!
Wasn't very busy, but on entering had to wait 15 minutes before I got served a drink at the bar. Staff kept walking passed. No acknowledgement. I would of walked out but was meeting family for a meal. We had a couple of children with us, so was placed right next to the children area. This made it a very noisy area to talk to family. The total bill came to around £200.
Very pleased with our first visit to the Evenwood farm from start to finish.
We were greeted at the door and shown to a table.
My wife and I decided to have the carvery and the food was lovely.
There was plenty of choice, all fresh and hot.
The staff were very helpful and pleasant.
We definitely recommend the carvery and will be returning again to try something from the main menu.
Big thank you to all the staff.👍
Average . There was no meet and greet even though was a sign to wait to be seated , after 7-8 minutes of waiting decided to take matters in my own hands and ask at the bar . Managed to sort out a table and to place my order . Not too many types of beer , just like 4 or 5 on draft , ordered for lunch one of their 3 course menu listed . Soup was flavourless completely, same with the gravy and cauliflower with cheese. The roast beef was delicious, the mashed potatoes were puffy/creamy delicious. Very nice display of deserts , great atmosphere inside , lovely setup of the roast area .
