About This Pub
Ah, Electric Bear Brewing Co – it's one of those places that really grows on you once you find it, tucked away in Bath's industrial estate. I have to say, the beers are a highlight; they've got this brilliant range, particularly their IPAs, which are fresh and full of character, making it a top choice if you're after something a bit adventurous. The taproom has a warm, community feel that's just right for a casual evening with friends, and those food trucks that show up now and then really elevate the experience with some solid grub to go with your pint. On the flip side, though, the location can be a bit of a faff – it's not exactly central, so you might end up feeling like you've wandered into the back of beyond. Plus, not every beer's a winner; some reviewers weren't keen on certain ones, like that Helles lager with its unusual aftertaste. And let's be honest, service isn't always spot on – there have been grumbles about staff being a bit distracted when things get busy. Overall, it's a solid spot if you're up for exploring Bath's craft scene, but go in with realistic expectations and you'll likely have a cracking time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The beer selection is absolutely cracking, especially their IPAs – they're bold and fresh, perfect for a proper pint lover.
-
It's got a really cool, laid-back vibe in the taproom, making it a great spot for catching up with mates over a drink.
-
They often have food trucks popping up, which adds a nice touch with tasty options to pair with your beer.
-
The overall atmosphere feels community-oriented and welcoming, especially if you're local and fancy a regular haunt.
Cons
-
The location's a bit tucked away in an industrial estate, which can make it feel out of the way and not the most inviting for a spontaneous visit.
-
Some of the beers might not hit the mark for everyone – a few folks have mentioned off tastes, like that brussels sprouty lager.
-
Service can be inconsistent; there've been times when staff seemed more caught up in their own chats than helping out promptly.
-
Opening hours are a tad erratic, only open a few days a week, so it's worth checking ahead to avoid a wasted trip.

Cool place to hang out, although somewhat unusually positioned smack bang in an industrial estate. Cool vibes and great food stand. Alas, we tried the Helles lager and Little Ripper IPA... and didn't particularly like either - the lager especially with a very brussel sprouty smell and aftertaste. I know it's supposed to be unfiltered/unpasteurised but it's the sort of beer, if I had in some random pub, I'd be left wondering if it's off and if I should ask for the keg to be changed. We'll give it another shot with some of the other beers next time.
One star for the food truck that was there, who were happy to serve us and wanted our money.
Photo of food but no photos of drinks? Unfortunately, the bar staff or person was too busy chatting away to his mates at the bar serving them one by one to take notice of us and the growing queue forming. Waited 15 minutes (during this time he only served two pints), wasn’t even acknowledged, in the end we didn’t want the food we ordered to go cold so we walked away empty handed.
Maybe he didn’t care about us? We had money to spend as we went there specifically for drinks and food but only managed to purchase the latter. Or maybe he thought we weren’t cool enough to be served, or maybe he just didn’t like serving non-whites… we’ll never know.
We love Electric Bear Brewing ... the beer, the service and their Tap Room. Being fortunate enough to live within a 30 minute walk of the Tap Room, my wife and I get there at least twice a month, especially when they invite in a food van to feed the masses. If we find ourselves too lazy for a long stroll, or the weather's uncooperative, we'll hit-up The Black Fox. This fantastic Bath pub carries a selection of Electric Bear classics on rotation. Mark and his crew are premiere hosts. Sometimes, we feel anti-social. But hey, we're still thirsty. So, we keep a host of our Electric Bear favs, purchased on line, in the fridge, for emergencies. Some folk are dog people. Others prefer cats. Us? We're more of an Electric Bear household.
really brilliant location even though I come from the country with the Bavarian purity law - you just have to try the beer, it was fun and I can only recommend it
Stumbled across this place by accident!Fantastic little brewery hidden away in the corner of an industrial park. It might be hidden but it was very busy. Great selection of beers and a taco truck pulled up just as we were leaving!
